  1. Did the headlight problem start after you installed the harness? Yes it did, I wanted to upgrade lighting anyways and hoped it would help the issue. I did go through the sensors, connectors, and anything a wire plugs into and cleaned what I could and topped off with dielectric grease. Ill go back through the main headlight connector again. I'm pulling a part my xj donor this weekend and will hopefully start my drivetrain/dash/floor shifter swap before winter.
  2. 88 4.0L Auto So after a good rain we had the other day I went for a cruise in the pioneer and when I hit the brakes my headlights came on. Then I turned my lights on and when I hit the brakes again the brights turned on. If I have my brights on, the headlights shut off..... Made me laugh though. I also don't have blinkers on either side. I recently replaced the running light sockets to attempt a quick fix and it did not fix the issue(rockauto had them for $1.86 each). The wires from the rubber grommet in the cab floor to the connector at the rear harness have been replaced. Also I'm running putco harness up front. Any suggestions to point to the right direction would be awesome!
  3. Cruiser do you know if the 98 t-case will accept the 88 rear drive shaft or will I have to tear down and swap parts?
  4. I plan to replace front axle, motor, trans, t-case, wiring harness, dash, sterring column, add in the floor shifter all from the 98 XJ
  5. I recently talked to a guy with a rolled over 98 XJ with less miles on it than my MJ. Seeing how scrap prices are down he said it's mine for $300. I figured I can finally get rid of the CAD front, replace the tired 88 renix, replace the dash/add the floor shifter, and replace all the wires (some causing lots of grounding issues). Is there anything I should hang on to from the renix like front drive shaft, injectors, or anything random like that? Stuff to keep to help out CC members looking for stock items?
  6. I work night shift so 90% of the work I did was after office hours or weekends in the middle of the night. I have seen others fixing various vehicles there, MGs, corvettes, one guy had a sweet 70s gto. I'm sure the apartment complex next to the units loved the noise of angle grinder at 3 a.m.
  7. Finally moving her out of the unit. She's going to a buddies place with lots of room for her to run around. Hopefully if the work schedule allows, I'm taking her camping this weekend and will finally be able to wheel her.
  8. first coat of the monstaliner rolled on. I figured practice on the inside before starting outside around fenders and along the rockers
  9. And yet less than 12 hours later I'm in. [emoji2]
  10. This is what I got out of the admin
  11. Could you replace with cables if you couldn't find the OE style straps? Something from a CJ?
  12. Measure measure measure! Small tacks and lots of measuring. You don't need to bind springs or have the axle sticking out further on one side due to being off center
  13. Our CV-less drive shifts like to be set up like this. Are you staying spring under? If you're setting it up spring over hopefully you got a set of anti wrap perches.
  14. My cable was without cruise control, just one solid cable. Mine has cruise but the cable runs from tcase straight to the dash
  15. When i ran my new hard lines with eliminating the factory prop valve, i plugged the hole at the distribution block with a bolt with matching threads. I also added a jegs prop valve in the cab so i can adjust on the fly. One hard line to the rear and a T on the axle. With your pedal being solid are the rears locked up?
  16. Thanks, she's been a handful. I can't wait to finally wheel her soon. Pitures of that will be posted when it happens!
  17. Drivers side trimmed and patched Now she's rocking some pins
  18. I started trimming the front fenders down. No more flares and I'll have to patch a little bit of rust in areas.
  19. I used the atp - y804. I think the PO didnt want the cruise control connected.
  20. I installed done RE coil spacers to help level out the rake yesterday. It sits so much better now. Also finished up the passenger fender, just need to hit it with the primer.
  21. I recently found a v8 zj for a steering upgrade but the TREs need replacement. Has anyone installed the Goferit insert? Its a cheap investment if there's good reviews and if I'm getting new tie rods I know I'll have to get a left hand TRE for it. Just curious if I should pull the trigger on the insert.....
  22. Ive requested to join about over 6 weeks ago and haven't had a join or reply or anything. Maybe the admins for FB are a bit slow getting to things except deleting people.....
  23. Driver side is whole again and will be finishing the passenger side soon
  24. I thought the 350 radiator had different inlet locations and sat further down than 4.0s...? from the things ive read online at least
  25. I was thinking "Hey, that body looks pretty clean" and then you posted that. Drivers side is all patched up and sanding filler down right now. I hate living in a rust belt [emoji21]
