  1. Good lord! Sorry to hear that! Thanks for the advice now I'm deciding wether to rent garage space or have someone maintain it. Yeah I'm going in for Motor T mechanics hopefully; I say that because nothing seems to go your way when it comes to the govt. You can never get a straight answer. Hell, my ship date gets moved around every month!
  2. Thanks Jim! and ill ask my girlfriend if she could come and drive it to work whenever she thinks about it!
  3. I'm located about 10 miles from St.Louis Missouri. And lately we've been getting really harsh winters!
  4. On December 1st I will be leaving for Marine Recruit Training in San Diego California. So this means that my Comanche will be sitting and rotting outside my house for 3 months! Has anyone else been in this situation before? I would like some tips and tricks on what I could to to keep it prepared through the winter while I'm gone. Any advice is appreciated! :)
  5. Impossible. The differential is a percentage, so any difference increases proportionately to the speed. In other words, if the speedometer is off by 2 MPH at 30, it's off by 4 MPH at 60 and 6 MPH at 90.Not impossible, I don't mean to argue but I know for (edit: almost) a fact it's 7mph I don't know if something was messed up before but it's 7mph off I've driven by a radar sign and when my speedo says 55 it says 62. Now I realize there could be some error! So I did it again and it read the same! The radar could be off but who knows I would just be happy if it worked again! :) You can be off by 7 MPH when your speedo says 55. But that's the ONLY speed at which you'll be off by 7 MPH. When your speedo says 27-1/2, you'll be off by 3-1/2 MPH. It's a proportion, not a constant error. Okay that makes more sense! Thanks for explaining guys. I thought it was a constant.

  7. Thanks, helped a lot! And I just find it makes everything sound welcoming/nice IMO
  8. This question is asked a lot but mine has a little bit of a twist to it. Recently I have put a lift on my MJ 6.5 inches or so and put 33s on it! Now obviously the speedometer is going to be off because of a different geometry through the tires! So my speedometer reads 7Mph too slow exactly! I know in a model XJ or MJ to fix this issue you would just change the tooth size of the speedo gear! My problem is that I have the 86 MJ with the 2.8L and it uses a speedo cable instead of the electric pulse sending speedo! I was wondering how to correct this as I am doing a full gauge cluster swap this Friday. Thanks for any advice! Specs: 1986 Jeep Comanche 2.8L AX-5 transmission D30 front D35 rear both 4.10 gearing(d35 about to be replaced with Ford 8.8) 6.5 in lift and 33x12.50r15
  9. Semper Fi!
  10. 17 here
  11. the hose that comes out of the top of the cylinder? And where is the external clutch slave cylinder located??
  12. I have the AX-5 transmission on my 86 2.8l. Every month it seems my clutch pedal just gets loose when I start it up about to drive and I go look and the clutch fluid resivwar (I know I spelled that wrong) is empty) then I'll fill it back up and pump the clutch and all that business and get going. So all in all it randomly will just empty itself of all clutch fluid over night or while I'm at school. When I look on the group there is no fluid there! I've recently replaced the clutch master cylinder and I'm still having the problem! Any solutions? Thank you!
  13. Okay, thanks guys I'm going to weld it now will post up pictures when done
  14. I'm welding my ford 8.8 axle tubes to the differential tomorrow and I would like to know what steps are involved. Also I would like to know if you need to remove the internals like the ring and pinion and carrier and all that! Thanks again guys.
  15. I thought it looked good at the time, now I have 33x12.50r15 and I think my old 31s look weird, this picture it roughly 6 inches of lift with 31x10.5 hope this helped!
  16. This is of topic as well, I just it offered a ford 8.8 with 4.10 gears, how much shorter in width on each side is the 8.8 from my Dana 35?
  17. Did they make any XJs that have the 29 spline 8.25 and 4.56 gears?
  18. well I have 33s now with 4.10 gearing, will the 35s make that much of a difference? I was thinking of upgrading gears but I need a new front Dana 30 as well because the previous owner had jumped it or something like that ad bent the axle tube I think it was 1.7 or 2.7 degrees negative... What are the possibilities of finding a Dana 30 with 4.88?
  19. yeah I have friends who run 4.5s with 35s, in my opinion it looks weird like there's to much tire, I like the look where you can see the inner fender well and you don't have to worry about anything rubbing!
  20. Sorry every one I was out of town, and I was actually king to go up to 35s!
  21. I'm gonna have a hell of a time finding one with 4.10 gears
  22. I was wondering what's the best bang for my buck as far as 8 inch lift 3 link long arm kits go?
  23. Can anyone tell by this picture if this an axle from a pre or post 97?
  24. Hahah poor old Comanche! Did it sound any good? I've heard some of them straight piped and they sound really bad!It was loud as hell ! But actually sounded good , when I got the truck it was 100% stock and one of the first things I did was slap a cherry bomb on it , then after a bit I ditched the entire tail pipe assembly and put a turn down on it . Wasn't happy with that so I fiddled with different turn downs then I went to a 2chamber flow with a turndown and cut the turn down off right at the tapper on the muffler and was finally happy with that for a couple years . So about ten years ago I torched a 4" hole in the back of the flow master and welded a short 90deg turn down to it and have been really happy with that bit now iv been wanting to hollow out the cat to make it a little louder just because . Iv got some youtube vids of the exhaust and a couple wheeling ones where you can hear it .Can you link me to your channel? And do you have any videos of when you were just running straight pipes?
