Aux Lights to come on with brights help
Jacob Ochs replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
thank you sir! -
I have 5 auxiliary lights currently hooked up to one switch. They are extremely bright and sometimes when ping around a corner I don't have time to reach up and turn them off if another car is coming! So I wanted to know how to wire them up to come on with my bright light switch! Also will this make my lights dimmer at all? I know I'll have to use a relay (which I have plenty of) but I would like a simple diagram if possible! Thanks in advance! :)

Hahahah thanks guys yeah I'm really happy! I had a small dent in the back, so I'm guessing that's why they didn't want it! -

How do you guys have your sound systems set up?
Jacob Ochs replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't want it to where it is just plain annoying, I want a good quality sound! I can't stand over powered subs! -
I am coming to the point where I'm going to start working on a new sound system setup, I'm planning in getting the Pioneer 360 Bluetooth head unit but as far as speakers and Subs I have no idea what to get! I was thinking of making a custom box to sit up against the back wall of the inside of the cab! So tell me your set ups, with pictures (if possible) and the specs. Thanks!

What are the down sides to the 4.7 stroker?
Jacob Ochs replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Where are you located? If you are close to Hesco just go there. A reptuable shop who will stand behind their product and can dyno it is worth every penny! Mine is back at the shop after I pulled it back out and delivered it nearly 3 weeks ago, no response yet. :fs1: I live in a town near St. Louis Mo! Thanks for the info -
hahahahaha not good for moving forward though!

My dad is planning on buying a MJ here soon and was wondering if there were any down sides to the 4.7 motor route. Not like gas mileage or anything like that, but as far as reliability goes if you build it right! Any tips would be really appreciated, as always thanks everyone for all the help over the past few years! :)

I didn't think about reverse gears at all! That would be a problem. Oiling would be too, it would be a cool project though, although not worth it.

So I was thinking a lot about axles for some reason lol, and I had this weird idea! What if you we're to take for say a rear Ford 8.8 and get tubes made for it to fit as a front axle and had C's at the ends and a custom setup! So basically turning a rear axle into a front axle! I for one have no where near the money to have this done but I thought It would be a cool thread to start up! What do you guys think?

I'm looking to replace my turn signal lever on my 86 MJ, where would I get this? And I'm looking up them now and the older Chevy model ones look like they would be a direct swap in! Is this correct? Also i would like to get the hazard light switch because mine was never there, theres a just a hole! so links to these parts would be helpfull! Thanks ahead of time!:)

Custom Comanche adjustable upshift light
Jacob Ochs replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Looks really good man. I like the sound too, straightpiped? thanks! And yes sir, 2.8L straight 2 1/4 pipe all the way out the back! -
Well these pictures are from a year ago right after installing my lift and before the fancy trussed 8.8 and driveshaft, I thought Ide share. I grinded every single little piece of rust off the underside and inside the fenders ( using a brass wheel on the gas tank) and the wiped the whole thing down with Acetone to get rid of anydust. Took proabily a total of 12 hours of hell and crap falling in my mouth and I was done and probabily spent another hour jnder the MJ admiring it! So what are your guys oppinionanin undercoating? Any stories to tell? Pictures to share? :)

Custom Comanche adjustable upshift light
Jacob Ochs replied to Jacob Ochs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The part number for what I got is 555-40824 from JEGS, it's $51.99. Wiring was easy, the red wire will go to your power source so an open fuse port that gets power with the ignition source, the black wire will go to the Ground, if you don't know we're to find one hook it up to the negative side of your battery. The blue wire will go to the negative lead of the accessory your powering, and the grey wire will splice into the green and white wire behind your gauge cluster (this is the tach signal wire) And then your set to go! (:
