Anyone that puts stacks on an MJ.

What are you 12? I'll be as nice as possible here and just say
-
Here in Canada you can only get them in a 2-pack for $25
-
My red 91's clear coat is near perfect, no peeling at all. Original paint and decals.
-
Only in Canada. :rotfl2: It's funny 'cause it's true  :Canadaflag:

I know it's a long shot but if you have a used Core/Hurst shifter for sale to fit AX-15 let me know. It's $424.10 CDN for a new one with shipping and I can't justify it LOL.

AC Bypass & Idler Pulley Part #s
91Pioneer replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I haven't checked the pulleys again since my last writing but I did place an order from RockAuto, no pulleys but I did order a new belt. They're not Gatorback anymore, they're Continental Elite 4060710 It's such a high pitched squeal that I'm pretty confident it's a bad bearing (metal on metal) sound but I figured I should change out the belt anyway. And when I have it off I can turn the pulleys by hand to see if I feel anything that isn't smooth. -
I've tried finding like original type pics of green 92's but they are tough to find. Anyone got pics of original 92 green ones with the clear coat on it still? Was the peeling clear coat mainly a green issue? Nearly all of them are flaking from pics I've found.

Orange, nooooooo...... Why? Got any pics?

1992 Comanche Hunter Green 4WD Short Box
91Pioneer replied to 91Pioneer's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I did some searching and discovered the seats are out of a ZJ. PO had said 99 which would mean WJ but ZJ is older (did not know that before now, I know MJ but not all up on the other codes). -
I saw one other guy Rondo I think his username is but other than that, who else on here has a hunter green 92? Not camo green, not rattle can green, I mean real Hunter Green Metallic (PG5 on the body tag) Mine's rough but I'm thinking about restoring it due to how rare these things are. It will depend on time and budget. I often have grand plans that never work out LOL

 :fs2:  :( :headpop:

So... You're quirky LOL

What's the story behind that? I'd rather drive a Chev than go back to a ridiculous 30 pin connector device. Lightning port is 10,000x times better. On mobile I normally use Tapatalk for this forum.

AC Bypass & Idler Pulley Part #s
91Pioneer replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So I was using a piece of hose and mechanics stethoscope to diagnose where the noise is coming from and it's been extremely tough to figure out the noise source. Now I'm kinda thinking it could be the water pump. It's a super high pitched squeal that is duplicated by starting the engine when the engine is warm. It happens every time for 1-3 seconds on startup. The pump does not appear to be weeping coolant out the bottom and appears to be older, possibly original, I couldn't say. I tried wiggling the WP pulley by hand and it seemed tight but I didn't loosen the belt. The PO said he replaced the thermostat & gasket I would guess in the last year or two. Sigh. Argh. Jeeps. -
Carpet is so easy to clean. Pressure washer and a good degreaser will have it looking like brand new, if you wanted to go that way. Those floorboards look like your truck is still in the showroom compared to mine.

AC Bypass & Idler Pulley Part #s
91Pioneer replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Cool, Gates' site has a spot where you can input your VIN and it shows you all the parts they make for the vehicle. According to them the 38109 grooved and 38042 smooth are the pulleys they make that fit. They don't specify w/AC or without though. -
AC Bypass & Idler Pulley Part #s
91Pioneer replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hmmmm that one is not listed as fitting a 92 Comanche 4.0 on RA. Doh, I'll have to dig more on manufacturer sites I guess. Worst case I'll have to pull mine off and take some measurements and order it that way... -
AC Bypass & Idler Pulley Part #s
91Pioneer replied to 91Pioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
OK well I was able to find some Dorman part #s. 419-602 is the idler pulley if you have AC, no # if you don't have AC. Crap. They list a part # 34171 but it's the whole AC bypass bracket and pulley. I'd prefer to save some cash and just buy the pulley.... -
I occasionally get a really loud squealing from the engine. I checked the harmonic balancer and it's good, it's not rubbing. The noise sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine and I can't tell but I'm pretty sure it's either the idler pulley or the AC bypass pulley. If it's not too expensive I'll just replace both pulleys. Problem is I'm having a hard time figuring out what is what on RockAuto. There are a number of options "w/AC", "grooved", "smooth", "accessory drive idler assembly", etc. And there are 14 total pulleys listed under the category Idler Pulley. So help me out here guys, for a 1992 4.0 w/o AC which are the part numbers I need to order? Even if I could figure out the OEM numbers I could cross reference them. I understand the Renix AC bypass is different from searching plus I don't want to buy the whole bracket, just the pulley... also, would the idler pulley be the same with or without AC? I don't have my 91 MJ to compare (loaned it to a family member).

How long are codes stored in memory? I think the O2 codes will be gone for good now.
-
OK time for an update. Since I posted last I put my battery tender on the battery to top it up and I reset the codes using that different procedure, I didn't notice any drivability changes but I re-read the codes tonight and now I have left: 12: battery disconnected (last 50 start cycles) 35: cooling fan relay 33: A/C clutch relay 55: end of codes Well yeah those two relays are missing, they aren't required, I don't have the extra electric cooling fan or A/C. So I *think* I'm good to go now. I'm actually wondering if I should just put relays in those two spots to make the codes away or forget it and move on.... hmmm.... thoughts?

Under carpet/vinyl insulation recommendations?
91Pioneer replied to big66440's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yep, rockauto carries it, as do other places.
