  1. Yea the tray is even better than the floors very happy fro. a corrosion standpoint. I guess the main problem is oil leaks drove it before I ripped out the interior actually had drops building up on the trans belly pan assuming rear main seal and obviously the valve cover figure it probably needs a head gasket too got a little sweet smell after warm up but really sounds good under the hood thanks for the links I'll get to reading just never really fooled with axles before big learning experience. I'm not gonna regear right now it matches my 3.55 rear would love to go to 4.10 in the future though so just to make sure new rotors and pads, ball joints, hubs new axles is not a necessity just seals right and pinion seal?
  2. Definately had to do the gauge swap from idiot lights just finished up the column indicator swap to the new gauges last night also rolled back miles to match my original odometer
  3. Sorry about the grammar dam auto correct cellphone! Other plans when $ permits is the hellcreek 3" lift I think this would be a good option because of the full packs for the rear vs. Aal thoughts are welcome would love to know if the tow rating increases or decreases with these? Gonaa try and overhaul this Dana 30 know I need new rotors, hubs, ball joints after that I'm lost should I just buy a master overhaul kit if so which one and links to the process would be appreciated if available
  4. My plans are to go 4wd already have 96 xj aw4 with 231 also 99 HP Dana 30 with front driveshaft. Just pulled the carpet no major rust reason here that should be the first thing to do

  7. Looks like my main dash color which is like a slate blue but my trim pieces like you have pictured are light gray for accent i bet your main dash is lite gray just a reverse of mine I've seen that in jy also seen where the complete interior was the color you have pictured and vice versa I've noticed the 86-89 models had a lot more interior options as far as colors go at least from what i noticed from my jy diving experiences if your looking to refinish that trim SEM has a near perfect match excellent stuff
  8. I'm doing the same mine is out of a 99 I am doing a 2wd conversion I have same questions
  9. Do they fold forward? Thats a major plus with the single cab other than that as long as you got some mj brackets or willing to fab some pretty much any small to mid size buckets will fit seen people put everything from ranger seats to crossfire seats just ask for some measurements and get your tape out sure it can be done
  10. The original Comanche center console is the same as the xj even got the ashtrays in rear at least on the 88 Laredo's (i guess just money saving reasons because its useless back there) just a plastic delete where the e break handle goes I'll take pics of dads he is gonna let me pull it to put in mine he wants a bench
  11. Found out some new info guy from Cherokee forum says he run into the same thing he has a 94 xj bought new just recently was gonna get his trans rebuilt the trans shop pointed this out to him so being that he bought this truck new there could not have been mods he called dealership they put him in touch with what they say was a Mopar guru this guy told him that Chrysler had such an influx of these trans that they didn't always change the tags and that this is common just not noticed how true this is who knows but just for kicks how about guys running aw4 check your tags see if its 30-43le or 43-30le so we can put this to bed i figure it will definitely help someone out in the future
  12. Got a good deal I think 250 for tcase and trans also just wondering if there is any way to identify 96 year on both thanks in advance for any help
  13. Hi guys I post the tuff stuff here b/c I know u guys got an answer got a aw4 and np231 from a guy that says it come out of a 96 Cherokee with 75000 miles got it home cleaned the tags and by the markings 30-43le its a 2wd but the input shaft is short like 4wd is this a common error on markings or is this a rebuild made to be 4wd I have a 30 day warranty just wondering if I should return this thing or Image Not Found
  14. Yep speedo will be on final drive 4x4 transfer case 2wd trans
  15. Oyaji I appreciate the insight I will post what I get out of Alumalite today would love to do the 3d printing just don't know of anyone in my area do in it but that was actually a thought I had a while back if you know someone pls let me know its just a little on the expensive side from what I've seen
  16. Sure I'm def gonna do a step by step post I'm hoping to order materials this week and possibly start next weekend but understand this is a learning experience for me also and happy to get anyone's input on the process luckily I got a guys contact info that has pulled this off and willing to help me out
  17. Sounds like your light on material from my calculations about 350-400 plus time but if it comes out cheaper I will let you guys know hopefully I'll talk to them Monday I hear their customer service is excellent so I will give them the dimensions and some pics and see what they think I will keep you guys posted
  18. I mean this is definitely gonna be trial and error not so much the molds but the right amount of transparency like he was telling me he poured 3 sets before he got it right don't want them to clear like glass but about like the clear corners you can already buy
  19. I'm gonna make led boards but you could paint these from the inside factory colors don't know how it would look but just an idea I want clears for my white truck
  20. Gonna make rubber molds all of this will be Alumalite products the initial cost and work will be more than what Iplanned but once the molds are made its clear sailing
  21. Well as you guys can tell just a little heat and they come right off but if you try to do this heat the housing not the tailight itself gonna do this with no vacuum old school way just a simple rubber mold and clear resin like this guy told me if you want them original you would have to paint them from the inside reason being you can only go with one color using this method the clear for reverse square wouldn't be possible without injection so that's why I'm going all clear but you could go any color just add dye

  24. I separated the taillights super easy heat gun and viola! Next step to make the rubber molds and I will have clear taillights this all started when I was in Laredo Texas spotted a guy with some clear tails on a Comanche started talking to him and he told me how he done it so I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can pull this off hope these pics work just signed up for photo bucket had skydrive but that doesn't work
  25. Thank you very much that answers my question I love your guys knowledge on this forum
