I finally have some spare cash to replace the fuel system (truck has been sitting in my driveway for close to 2 years). How much fuel line should I get? What size/sizes? Any particular brand I should get? I'm thinking Wix fuel filter and I'm not 100% on fuel pump. Id like to go to the parts store today so all info will be appreciated.

help with wheel decision

Lol you are right. I was wanting to put the moabs on my wifes 08KK. I might still do that since she has some major curb rash from a cop almost side swiping her while running code and pushing her off the road into the curb. -

yeah I agree but I think the Pacers look more like truck wheels than the Rubicon wheels. Does anybody know if the Pacers are hub centric or lug centric? -

I tried prepping/priming/painting some rust on my tailgate and there deff is a technique because i applied it too thick and i now have alot of runs. Oh well it was just for rust prevention anyway. I will sand/spray again when i have a nice day. -
Good luck, hopefully its just a freeze plug. Got a pic of the leaking area? Also please try to keep her running. I have read some oretty amazing builds that start out as some old junky farm truck. A parted out/junked comanche will be gone forever.

cherokee floor pans in a comanche.
badazzelanore replied to badazzelanore's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It had some bucket seats in it when i bought it. I pulled them to address the rusty floor and they ended up sitting on the floor for months then thrown in a uhaul and driven like 3K miles. Come to find out the brackets had been swapped to xj seats and the move/tossing around has them all out of shape now :-( -

I love it, so much skills! What is the actual name of the color on your truck? Is the hammered black rustoleum and what color/brand is the silver underhood parts? Your truck is an insperational build. All i need is time money and a jeep monkey to show me the way. Lol -
Lol, thats the same photo i chopped that pic from. Theres a handful of dacotas at the junkyard in the right year range. won't hurt to check when i go. Thanks.

Can you post a pic of the bellhousing installed or atleast confirm if this looks right?

Wow, holy resurrection thread! I am glad you bought her back. I enjoyed reading your build and was shocked to see you sold it! Looking forward to watching this rebuild! -
how should i seal up my fuel tank?
badazzelanore replied to badazzelanore's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Tank looks fine. No leaks. I think ill por-15 the outside as cheap insurance. -
What years of dakotas can the ax-15-2.5l bell housing be found?

I know this is an old post but I was in a similar circumstance just yesterday. I have been scrounging around CL looking for a 2 door 2.5l 4x4 w/manual transmission XJ as a donor for my 2WD Comanche. I found one! Damn thing was toast! Every panel was rusted/bamged up, interior was ripped out except driver seat (i want the fold and tumble front seats) and the transmission and TC were destroyed because he decided to make a rock crawler out of it then gave up apparently after destroying all the good parts lol. The search continues!

how should i seal up my fuel tank?
badazzelanore replied to badazzelanore's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
10-4. I just live in the gulf coast of south Texas. 5 min from a Padre Island. So rust may eventually be a problem. Should I just por-15 the outside? -
Think this could be my problem? (pics)

Yeah, 5 year old. She is a wild child but she likes to be a good helper when daddy is attempting to do anything with his truck. She wants me to paint it pink and put big tires on it lol. "Pink monster truck" I will soder it when i get it when i get some newer ones from the jy. -
how should i seal up my fuel tank?
badazzelanore replied to badazzelanore's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No not leaking, I mean it leaked when I pulled the fuel sending unit out... tank had close to 15 gallons in it and my driveway is on a pretty good slope lol. Luckily i happened to have a plastic storage bucket within arms reach to catch 90% of what leaked out. Then i siphoned out the rest of the tank. I plan on pulling the tank off Tuesday or Wednesday if the weather is as nice as it has beem the last couple of days. I just want to seal the fuel tank so i don't have to fool with it again. -

Yeah i squeezed the hell out of the crimpers and i tugged on them to make sure they were in there good. Also yes i did expose fresh wires. The old crap job was so corroded! This is just a temporary fix. I was going to pull the entire back harness and replace all the wires/lightbulb housings but i couldnt figure out how to get it out of the grommet that runs through the frame. That and i had a give year old jumping in the bed of the truck... -
I seriously feel like the Comanches rear bumpers were made out of aluminum foil. Finding one that is in pristine condition is like finding a unicorn! all the ones I see are freaking destroyed... Oh well lol, your truck looks bad @$$.
