  1. Humm interesting, then why the coolant boils in there?I think I just open a can of worms =\
  2. As the tittle says, I'm looking on changin my radiator bottle, this would be the 2nd time that I've done this, but I'm wondering which other bottle would fit? I'm driving an 86 manche, and I had some problems with the coolant boiling out from the reaervoir, so I did some research and find out about the cap from napa, but it doesnt fit ! Haha So I'm looking now for a better/beefier/more durable bottle, and if I could find it from the JY Thanks in advance!
  3. I like the stance, any lift in the rear? How was it driving around town and on the highway?Feels good, just as I mentioned b4, when driving a slope , it kinda goes underpowerd. But aside from that pretty solid.
  4. Dude mine Its an 86 2.5 same as yours, not sure in the gears thoe, and uphill it does feel underpower. Running 31x10.5x15 michelin AT LTX, and I love how it looks!
  5. Damn i'm in the middle of doing black ,and tan myself! Get some plasti dip, try it out and if u don't like it, just peel it away ^^
  6. I like "2 color" theme, mine its going to be tan/black on the interior! As soon as I finish gonna post sum pics!
  7. here's another shot of the tach
  8. We have to see the back of the tach circuit board to tell if it has the potentiometer. Based on the design of the speedo dial, I suspect you have the early style cluster, which does not have the potentiometer. Well, it was from an 87 mj, with a 4 cyl engine as well, as I was doing my HW on this forum regarding the swap, they says a tack from a 86-87, would work good, and I plugged back eveything, and the speedo doesnt work, and all the needles wooble like crazy. I think i have to make another trip to the JY haha
  9. I was suspecting the same thing, I even took it off and look for the potentiometer but here's what I found Kind of strange BTW
  10. As I was doing the cluster swap, I plugged back in everything as it was suppose to, and to test the new cluster I turn on the car, and everything was worming as suppose to, but the tach was idling at 2500 rpm, and I ask myself this is kinda odd, and became even more strange when I step on the gas a lil bit, and bum! The revs whent all the way to the little mark on the bottom of the tach that says "rpm x 100", as far as I know we don't have more than 7000 rpm, plus the red line its on 5500, the question is, do I need to calibrate this tach? Even thoe the donor was an 87 MJ 4 cyl, 5 spd; and I'm driving an 86 MJ 4 cyl 4 spd? Thanks in advance, Eddie
  11. As long as they are 5x114.3 (5x4.5), they should fit 86-92 manches.
  12. I had the same issues with mine, but I do have a thermostat, what I didnt have was a good bottle cap, the first one was kinda bad, and the second one that I bought from the JY had a little crack, so I whent to napa bought the one that yall said, and it seems to work ok, been a couple days w/o issues.
  13. ^ Would b nice to know that, and probly we migh need some "T"s, and as theres nothing on the bottom groomet of my valve cover, should something be there? And on the top groomet I have the PCV valve. All this vacuum thing its like a puzzle haha but an interesting one.
  14. Thats a picture of mine, I'm kinda confused with the CCV/pvc valve issue :S
  15. Hello all! Well as the title says I'm triyng to get some pictures on an 1986 2.5 tbi engine bay, bcs I think I might be missing some vaccum lines. Thanks in advance!
  16. Hahha thanks dude! I got a little confused. :D
  17. I have a single serpentine belt, and the engine, on the donor car and mine are the same. Still need to get everything out?
  18. Well my steering box in my truck its kinda messed up, and for my good luck my local JY is having a 50% sale this weekend :D, so I'm doing something I was planning for the future, (hey might as well uh?) I've have doing my HW on this forum for parts that I would need for this modification (first time doing this), and the list of parts goes like this: PS pump with pulley and bracket Steering box PS reservoir PS lines Thats it? Well any info, advice, sorcery, witchcraft, would be apreciated, my "donor" would be an 87 manche, 4wd, 4 cyl, stick shift. And I'm driving a 86 manche, 2wd, 4cyl, stick. Oh and btw, while I'm there I'm getting the cluster with tach from the same donor, (finally changing the idiot lights) and a set of LWC of a WJ. This sale is soooo good! Thanks in advance!
  19. Hahha well, I bought the truck with current registration, and passing smog with good numbers ( I live in San Diego, California, so it is kind of a big deal the smog for me), but the interior and exterior its kind of rough, but hey!? For a 1000 bucks, what else can I ask for. But I've been looking trough the post that Danby~ and 64 cheyenne sayd, and it seemes that I'm going with the bucky tread. Thanks all! Btw planning on doing a project (H)
  20. Thanks for the feedback guys, well guys I've been doing some research, and as far for the interior it looks pretty good, well like always when doing paintwork; prep is key! So I think imma take that route, or who knows, I'm going to the JY this sunday, I might find something worthy. As far as for the cluster I guess it's going to be a real PITA to find the right one then, didnt know it was that hard. But if I do decided to paint my interior, might as well show some apreciation for this forum and do a DIY, bcs I did not find one about painting interiors.
  21. Hello all! Well as the topic says, I have an1986 MJ with a pretty beat up interior, and the stupid lights cluster, as I am planning on getting another cluster, I ask myself, what if I get another interior (console, cluster, etc, etc)? Or if i just "refurbished" the old one? (i.e. painting it) My question is, have any of you guys done it before? And if so, how well did it came up? Pictures would b awesome!
  22. Thank you all for the input! After I read all the feedback I whent to check al the ground terminal near the dipstick, and guess what my problem was? One of the spark plugs cable was loose, plug the sucker back in, and badda bing badda bum! Some sort of wichcraft happen and the problem was gone! Feel kinda dumb btw :/. I appreciate all ur feedback and feels great to be part of this awesome community!
  23. Thanks for the input! Well, as far as I know its a freshly rebuilt enine, so they have to be new, BTW its an 1986 2.5 stick mj.
  24. Hello! I would like to ask the gurus of jeep mechanics in this forum, for help on sum issues that I have on my mj. here's the list of symptoms: Lost of power Sputter at low rpms Rough idle Horrible gas milage What I've changed so far: Map sensor TBI unit Gas pump with the strainer Gas filter What I'm going to change: Vaccum hose, (all of them) Oxygen sensor TPS Thanks in advance, and it feels great to be part of this community!
  25. I currently have the same symptoms on my 86 mj, I already changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, did a full tune up, yet no progress. Changing the tbi next, lucky enough to find one in the JY for 75 bucks.
