My sister just had her and her husbands work car broken inot while they were home. The have a friend that has a trained and certifed blood hound rescue. They followed the sent the next day over a mile and it ended in the middle of a parking lot if he would have went to a door then the police would have had probale cause to get a warrant. Good luck in finding them!

Go buy the seal (cheap) take it to the shop and show them its 2 pcs and them find another shop. Or find someone with a garage that likes beer or something and have a go at it. :yes:

Hi, never been to any offroad park but would like to I have been lurking for a while checking some of this out. Can you take a stock truck to something like this and not tear it up its pretty nice stock 89 4x4? I may consider trying this one as its pretty close. I do need to get the motor issue fixed (knocking)and the tow points. Looking at just buying a crate motor soon.

Just found some wheels on a local site american racing outlaw II 15x8 BRAND NEW in boxes with caps and nuts I saw the pictures nice IMO. They say they bought them for a bronco 2 and never used the as the bronco got traded on a explorer. Will these fit the MJ? And is $260.00 a good price and how do you think they will look on a mj?

well I got some bucket brackets from a comanche. I know theres a ton of info in the past on this its alot to search thru. What years the cut off for easy swap seats 2 door seat from a xj 96 when using correct MJ brackets? Going to look at some grey buckets today but the yard says there dirty.

No, it quits after about 30 seconds or so. I was wandering if the bearings could be done without pulling the motor. The guy offering to do this with me helping wants to pull it and rering to I may just take him up on it. This does have alot of crud in it I was afraid to put a engine cleaner in it??? But when I change the oil it does get a little better. I am changing again tommorw with a little heavier as its getiing near summer here. I will also try adding a low draw back filter. Is a napa gold the same as a wix?

Not sure how to post a previous link I had a quetion about motor rap a few days ago most say rebuild or rebearing. Its has lower end rattle upon start up and low oil pressure for about 30 seconds I belive its rod or bearing rattle. This has a 4.0 auto 145,000 was driven about 300 miles in two years the guy did take care of it besides not running it. I have put about 4000 miles on it changed oil twice and alot of gunk does come out when I do this. Did not make this noise for about the first 2500 miles. The head has a small oil leak the exhaust manifold is shot and with the rap or rattle in it. I thought as long as this needs done and with the rap at least rings, bearings, maybe lifters, timing chain, Oil pump. I bought this as a ocasional driver but its in such nice shape so little rust for a nothern truck and so cool to drive my 99YJ just sits most of the time. I quess i just ran it to hard to soon. Maybe its time to post a build thread and some pics. Sorry about the gramer can't spell worth a darn and tying on a lap to does not help either!

Ok tired old 4.0 needs rebuilt. Wish I could swing a stoker but just can't to much $$. Sugestions on kits quailty price etc. This is a 89 4.0 any cheap performance items I could upgrade to. Not sure I want to get into a ho swap at this time was going to keep the renix???

Thanks for all the input and ideas I was just thinking about looking for a motor to get ready to build. Or a HO swap or a stroker rebuild if I can swing it. I have a friend that layed off right now who has the know how to do it. Time to start looking for a donor. ANy sugestions or rebuild kits stroker and standard?

1989 4.0 155,000 motor is realy noisy for about 30-50 seconds when I first start it. The oil light hangs on while this is going on also. Coulpe of people said it sound like rods or bearings. This truck had 300 miles put on it in two years. Could it just need cleaned out or is it on its death bed? Oh I have put about 3000 miles on it in 3 months changed the oil twice and it does help some with the noise and light time.

It went in the drain pan I replaced both hoses rusted beyond belief and at 160,000 I just left it drain figured new was in order. I will spring for the real thing, Thanks

Is it ok to put transmission fluid in the power steering or should I spring for the real stuff. Oh its in the 99 xj and its completley empty.

Nice truck EXACT twin to mine except the rear bumper even have the same floor mats. I may have to go check my driveway to make sure mines still there!

Have a set of the factory aluminum (slotted type?) wheels. They are corroded any input on fixing them up, beadblast, polish, paint, etc. I do not think they are clear coated.

My hood insulation is realy bad, loose, oil soaked and fraying. How important is it?? My paint is pretty decent. If its needed I will have to call some yards and try to get one off a XJ.

I replaced all my ccv stuff with new from NAPA and no luck also cleaned out the valve cover. Then I installed a 2000 4.0 valve cover with the full baffel and FIXED 100% I recomend this with and early 4.0 blowing oil. I think 94 up have baffels but not sure.

Anyone done a swap with the newer buckets into a mj! What am I looking at getting into are 98 cherokee buckets in my mj to replace a tired bench? I did search this and could not find any info on newer seat swaps. Thanks in advance, Mike
