  1. Is that a sticker on the sentinel? Or is it painted on there? What are these going for? I can't find it on eBay.
  2. Isn't that the wrong grill? Thought that 84-86 XJs and 86 MJs had the 10 slot grill. I thought the 8 slot grill was 87+. Also shouldn't a Laredo have power windows and power locks? My 90 XJ Laredo has power windows and power locks.
  3. Want to buy MJ seats. Prefer MJ bucket seats but a MJ bench will work. I'm located on Fort Drum, NY and will travel a bit to get them. I'm visiting Manchester, CT this weekend so anything in that area will be great. Surface rust on the brackets is acceptable.
  4. How can I send you pictures? PM me your email maybe? I can get pics in the morning (EST)
  5. Great looking place and congrats on the purchase. I'm jealous of the garage spaces.
  6. As it should be. If you run in to me, you pay, not me. Nothing worse than somebody with no insurance damaging me or mine, then we'd have to go to court. Messy! I agree with you man. Another thing great about auto insurance in NY is when a cop passes a vehicle, it has cameras that scans the plates. Tells the cop if registration, insurance, inspection is current or not. Also related to that is insurance companies have to report when insurance has been dropped on a car. So it's a great system. I know someone in my old unit got in trouble for insurance lapsing on his car. He's the kind of guy that deserved what happened.
  7. So its a 4.0L with AX-15 right? I don't know if mine has the upshift arrow.
  8. How many miles does your MJ have? Do you need full gauges for a 4.0L with AW4? Or a different set up?
  9. I just paid NY DMV $149 to get my MJ on the road. That's with 7.75% tax on the $400 purchase and registration for 2 years. Oh and the 10 day temp inspection, another $10 for the actual safety inspection. In NY it has to be insured to be registered so that's even more $$. About $200 for the whole ordeal.
  10. That's pretty much my theory too lol. My headliner has no fabric on it so I'll have to redo the fabric in the future anyway.
  11. Bringing back an old thread instead of making a new one. Anyone in the last few years put the XJ soundbar in a MJ? I'm thinking of a 97+ XJ soundbar. I don't care about how wires look, as long as it sounds louder than stock.
  12. My 90 XJ Laredo has a few waggy parts. Wood grain dash bezel, leather head rests, and solid red tail light housings. My XJ already has the maroon interior too. You should sell me those tail light housings :)
  13. My 90 XJ has a yellow top in it. I got mine on sale at advance auto. Idk if that helps.
  14. Nice find, looks like its in great shape. Are you on cherokee forum? There are a few waggys on there. I know that one guy is doing a nice restoration.
  15. Well guys I found my build sheet today when stripping the interior. It was under the bench seat, in pieces... Found only a few pieces, so I'll never have the entire build sheet.
  16. Thank you for your help. I'll have to find that decoder sometime. The previous owner was my brother who is ASE certified and I helped him with some work to the MJ. I'm still hoping to find it in the interior somewhere.
  17. Thanks for the tips guys. I've taken the driver's panel off once or twice and didn't find it there. Maybe I'll have better luck when I tear apart the interior. VIN is 1JTHS6415JT038387. I know its a a 1988 Jeep Comanche, 2WD, I4, Shortbed, manual everything. What I'm trying to find out is the trim and sun roof history. I think its a base model or maybe pioneer with a dealer option sun roof. I have access to a Chrysler build code book somewhere online so a build sheet would be awesome! Thanks.
  18. I asked Jeep for the build sheet for my 1988 MJ. They said that they couldn't give me it since it is too old. Anyone else have this problem? They gave me one for my 1990 XJ.
  19. ^ Thanks for the link, I added a bit of advice to it. I'm thinking the sun roof is a dealer option. Jeep won't give me my build sheet though. "It's too old."
  20. If you do the LED dash light mod, upgrade your old thermal relay to a new style one.
  21. I forgot to mention its got a sun roof! Which seems out of place. Everything in the truck is manual, such as locks, windows, no cruise, manual transmission, even the sun roof is manual. There are "sport" decals along the body of the truck but I don't think sport was a model in 1988. Maybe the sun roof is aftermarket or a dealer option?
  22. Is it just me or are red Comanches the most popular ones made?
  23. Thanks for the advice guys. I got plenty of empty dirt roads to learn on. Just have less than a week to get the basics down. The MJ has new front brakes and a new clutch so that should help.

    Nny New Guy

Hey everyone my name is Rob and I'm new to Comanche Club. I been on Cherokee Forum for almost a year since I got my XJ. My MJ is an 1988 MJ, 2WD, I4 2.5L, I think its a 4 speed manual, on 235 Winterforces. My XJ is a 1990 XJ Laredo, 4WD, I6 4.0L, AW4, on 235 A/Ts. I recently bought the MJ off my brother since he's moving. Thing is I don't know how to drive a manual and I don't have much time to learn. I currently live on Fort Drum, NY near Watertown, NY. The link in my signature is to my XJ build on Cherokee Forum.
