Went out to go to work yesterday and my mj wouldn't start. The motor turns over, but it won't start. It's an 89 4x4 auto. 4.0. I replaced the ignition module and the ignition coil and still not change. Any ideas as to what it might be? I have been told that it mybe the distributor or the crankshaft psotion sensor. Any othe possibilities or arethose even posibilities. As I have sadi many times on here I am not a mechanic and don't claim to be one, but I enjoy reading and researching on these trucks and fixing them. Any advice is appreciated.

I need to replace my injectors and have read in magazines and on the net that its a good thing to switch to Mustang injector, because of the 4 holes instead of one. So I researched to precisionauotinjectors. I notice there jeep one still have the one hole but their mustang ones do have the 4 holes. Is this something that should be done or should i just stick to the one for jeeps? If not, then switching to the mustang injectors willdo what or make what kind of difference?

Lookin to buy a set of 30x9.50r15 tires for my 89 MJ. I prefer all-terrain but would go for mud terrains. Send me pics of what you got with the price you want for them. Thanks

 Do they make one with a dual outlet? I like the look better than just the one pipe.

:agree: Any suggestions on which muffler will be the best?

For the forseable future I'll have the stock 4.0 in it. I seen that Tork Thrush had a glasspack looking muffler with dual outlet. Any opinions on this?

I am thinking of going with a single inlet/ dual outlet muffler to get the dual exhaust look. Any ideas on which muffler would be the best? I do not want it to sound like a Honda Civic and I know it won't rumble like a Mustang, but I am looking for a deep tone. Any advice is appreciated.

$8,200 Stock Comanche?....MASS <craigslist>
Shane replied to Rhodeyeland's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I personally wouldn't pay no where close to that for that one. If I were rich and willing to pay that much for one, it would have to be the exact color and exact options that I would want in one. -
I believe the correct response to this one would be. Daaaaaaaamn!!!!!! She is fine.

Nice fleet. Love all the MJ's and that 2 door XJ. I'm not quite sure how I feel personally about the 1st one, but great job. -

:agree: What is wrong with these people wanting that much for these trucks? Maybe, for the very last one made in mint condition. -
Column Shifter to Floor Shifter... How difficult is it?
Shane replied to Shane's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Sounds fairly simple. Can it all be done through that plate that you have to unbolt from the inside? Again its just an idea that I'm tossing around in my head at the moment. -
Like many others on here I am constantly thinking of different stuff to do to my MJ. I have an 89 4x4 auto. with column shifter. I have been throwing the idea around in my head of changing it from a column shifter to floor shifter. Would I have to change any major parts (ie. transmission, transfer case, etc.)? What all do I need to do this? How difficult is it? Any details and instructions are greatly appreciated? Please use lamen terms as I'm not a mechanic, but I do enjoy these trucks and tinkering with them.

Just thought that you might want to know that putting your tailgate down actually forces you to use more gas. It's because the pocket of air that the tailgate forms actually helps to push the air over the cab. The did this on mythbusters before. They took 2 identical trucks and ran the same speed with them and the one with the tailgate up went 30 mile further...... but hey if it works for ya go for it.
