  1. Those are nice XJ's. Have you had any trouble with those hoodlouvers? I have a set for my MJ and was wondering.
  2. Issen an ad for hood louvers in the JP mag and like them. As I said earlier my 89 MJ is primered and ready for paint (colorado red). I already have the holes cut in the same place I have seen many other these years. I was wondeing if rain is an issue with these? Are they more trouble than they or worth or are they as good as they say? Also I noticed that rusty's have a throttle body spacer for 89 MJ are they any good as well? Thanks
  3. I could not find it in the door, but I did not even think about looking anywhere near the radiator. Thanks I'll check that out. Do you know if the colorado red matches well with other reds about the same color I believ?
  4. I kno that this isn't really a techinical problem, but my 89 MJ is primed and ready to paint as I am still looking for the right tube bumper that I like, I seem to have ran into a problem. I can not seem to find the paint code anywhere on this truck. I am painting it the same color that it was (RED), but I know that there are many shades of each color. Any advice on what I should do? I really like the comanche chief red colors. It is important to me that it pretty much matches what is inside the doors. Thanks for the help.
  5. Do you have any idea of how I can get one from smittybuilt or mopar? Maybe a link or something I can't seem to find one for comanche.. Thanks alot
  6. I have had plenty questions about mods for my 89 MJ. Thanks alot to those who gave me advice. I love these trucks and have done a decent amount of research about them, however, it appears that I have not done nearly enough. On the driver side under the speedometer there is a switch that appears to have a trans on it and one way says power and the other says comfort. What is this about and which one should I have it on to drive daily? Thanks again
  7. I am looking for a set of tires. My comanche came with some Goodyear Wrangler tires that look like reg street tires not like the ones that I have ever seen. What type of tire do you suggest? I have BFG AT on my 99 XJ. I like those, but I have also been looking at some super swampers @ jcwhitney and they seem to be cheaper. To be honest this comanche will prbally never see alot of mud or real rugged trails due to the $$$ that I have in the paint, however, I want a nice rugged looking tire that wears good on the street. Thanks
  8. I am switching my factory bumpers to tube bumpers. I think it gives it a rugged look anf they sre not that expensive in the quadratec mag. Of course the front bumper is not going to be a prob, however, I noticed that they don't offer tubes for the rear. Can I get the one for the Cherokee and make it work with the comanche stoak brackets? The guy @ rustys offroad said it would be around $300 to make one. I do not see paying more if there is an easy way to make the cherokee on fit. I asked this question before but I had to have work done on my computer and lost the info. Thanks
  9. How difficult is it to switch it over to pwr windows? I saw the kit in the quadratec catalog for around $300. Would it be too much trouble to take either the manual crank or the auto out of a cherokee? What does this consist of? Thanks
  10. The passenger side window in my 89 MJ only rolls a little over 3/4 the way down. The guy I bought it from said that it has always been like that. So is it stuck or is that just the way it does? Do I have to replace the whole window unit to make iot go all the way down? Also it is missing the plastic pieces that goes on behind the seat on the back of the cab. Where do I find a replacement one or is there any other on a Cherokee or Dakota that will work. Thaks again
  11. That is kind of what I have been thinking. 31x10.50, 3" lift. My truck is missing the whole plastic part behind the seat and one of the interior light is missing the lends. Any ideas where I can find one. Yo don't see any in junk yards and I have yet to find any cherkee's with the interior lights like these.. Thanks again
  12. I was once read somewhere that if you replace the injectors in a 89 Comanche to replace them with Mustang injectors. Is this true? Is there any performance mods that can be done on an 89 that doesn't suck the gas away? See I have alot of questions about these because when I 1st started looking for a MJ I told myself that it had to be a 91 or 92. Well as my seach continued the ones I found weren't in any better shape, but they were quite a bie more, so I found this red one 50 mile from home for a good price so I jumped on it. Again any information or mod tips are greatlt appreciated. Thanks
  13. I have recently bought a 89 Comanche, automatic, and 4x4. I have a few questions. Are there any rear tube bupmer for these trucks like the one for the xj? Do they have any air intake systems for these trucks? Cutting on this truck is not an option for me, but if there are any mod ideas that I can do I will appreciate any and all advice. Thanks
  14. I have recently bought an 89 Comanche automatic and 4x4. I have searched for on for quite sometime, looking to find one close to home. They paint was rough on the hood, a few small dents, and the head liner was falling. As we speak it is being painted and is going to have the interior redone in a few weeks. I don't have pictures yet, but don't worry I am taking step by step pictures. I haven't joined the comanche club until now because I felt I need to have one 1st. I have a few questions that maybe someone can help me with. I am going to change the factory bumpers. I like the tube bumpers in the quadratec catalog, what do you guys think? The tech guy told me that there are different rear mounts. Can I make it work with the mounts that I have now? Are there any air intake kits for this year? I noticed most are only available for 91+. I am not the best mechanic in the world, but I love Jeeps and I love Comanches. I also have a 99 XJ all stock. If any of you guys have any advice about the Comanche or any mods that I might not know about, anything will be appreciated. Sorry so long post. Later, Shane
