i did mine just as a cheap way to chop out the rust that was above the wheel opening. it was unsightly , - not its just slightly less unsightly.
-
i may have trimmed inners a bit but just left them loose. my freind did his and welded the inner to the outer ---looks good.
-
i went up 3". which put the flair right on the line of the body bend. -- i think 2" would have been better for looks though.
-
i always said the canyons would look better on it too, then i figured "gamblers" would be the best factory wheels for looks, but i have these and thought that it would be more "correct". if u have the authentic eliminaor wheels, u may want to hang on to them if u have the truck that they originally came on.

I'm wondering if this was moved to too obscure a place in the forum and maybe should be its own section or something. i also think that people should be encouraged to write down VINs that they find in junkyards.(and maybe that could have a sub-section). whoops- spoke too soon. maybe i should have a look b4 i post-lol.

ya - i see what you mean now. had to look at a few pics i have of them. another item to be on the lookout for.
-
they look the same as the ones on the eliminator that lives near me -- holes all around with a ring of smaller holes inside of that. came stock on the 95 xj sport. was thinking of putting them on my eliminator to make it look more stock. maybe with some 30" tall tires.
-
my parts xj has the eliminator wheels, but they are badly - whats the word? -- bad. too far gone for polishing and clear-coat is peeling off them. i have been thinking of taking a wire-wheel to them and shining them up that way. i know that will leave them scratched up but shiny and unprotected. might not be worth the hassel. -thoughts ?

that is totally not right -especially if a deposit was made ! its not very often that i would raise $#!& ---but in a case like that, i think i might make it a bit messy for him. -tell him to get it back because the deal had already been made----- ask him about his drug use, that sort of thing...........

Of all stupid things to break
shawn replied to AMCJeepMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
yes , - i just put one in from a 4door xj had to put in the female end too though because the holes for the clipping mechanism were different then the single hole ones in my 86 mj. -
Shawn! Dude! Look what you made me go an do! :fs1: good morning Luke! thats a good looking truck. i hope you post some more pics. let us know how your ride went and what you think about the power and how you think it will take your camper. this is gonna be fun. it reminds me of my 89 pioneer. next time buy the circle package for the ferries and come back through this way. stop for coffee and a visit. keep us posted  '89 Pioneer. Is there anything special about a 'Pioneer' package guys? Or does that just mean it's got a fancy stripe down the side? It's all mostly good, 93k miles, refurbished suspension throughout including an add-a-leaf package, BF Goodriche AT tyres, topper and bed liner. The bad - Minor dings here and there, LH rear wheel arch rusted out at the top edge and the floor pans need some attention (don't know how much yet). edit: and the rear bumper has got holes in it too.

mean lookin machine !! -----looks great. -
i have been thinking about this for a couple of years. (since i got into mjs, actually). mostly because of the mopar registry, which admittedly i know very little about. i think this is a very good idea to the point of even being important. it seems like the details of your example might be too many and could easily complicate the program. the vin would be #1 in importance, year, bodystyle, engine size, and status. all mjs should be registered even if you are about to cut it up and send to scrap metal. so ya, great idea. I'm not sure how the mopar one works but ive always liked knowiing that people were doing this. ive kinda secretly always considered mjs to be a final opportunity for me to have a cool, collectable vehical for little cash outlay (at least as far as the initial purchasing of the vehical goes) -it all seems to change after that -lol.
