  1. most people call those hoops
  2. 68RFE should be an option.
  3. I hate it when people start their posts with "Maybe" Its like just get on with the post already. Also, nice rig.
  4. I'd love to see you do that. Will peer pressure have any effect on your decision? Besides, when does the economics of most of what we do ever make sense? Willy I guess you have a point with the economics. After all the sensible thing to have done would have been to NEVER have owned a jeep, let alone as many as I have... I stuck my tongue out in the rain to see what I could find for a 4BT, there isn't as many of them to be had on this side of the border. I guess there isn't as many chip trucks being cut up. Ebay offered up a couple, even some reman units that would probably make more sense in the long run. Of course, then I need to rethink my transmission options too. NV4500 is the simplest.
  5. stays on your medical records forever?
  6. just goto lake mead, and pretend its the beach.

Well before you do you should grab a couple of those Jeep diesel engine to sell to me.
  9. could you pull the little windows out of the rear doors? shouldn't take more than 20 mins a side, I'll ship a box and return label to you to send em to me? Those rear windows are pretty hard to find.
  10. I thought the whole point of text messaging was that NOTHING uses more than four letters. If u cnt say it in 4 ltrs it dsnt cnt. idk my bff jll
  11. how much for the spoiler? How much for the small rear door windows? How much for the tow bar?
  12. anyone have pics of that red one that was on ebay?
  13. Ugh, he has a Z in his garage too.
  14. 4 cylinder version of the 6bt found in the dodge rams(with a bit less sophisticated injection system) Injection is mostly the same, at least if you're comparing apples to apples (mechanical to mechanical, and the same basic style of pump... The 24V computerized abomination is a different matter). But a lot of the 4BTs came from stationary applications (pumps, generators, etc) or from hydrodynamic applications (equipment), and have a governor that is only set up for constant speed applications. The newer 4bts with the increased displacement use a nice simple electronic fuel injection. IMO that is the ideal setup if you are going to swap in a 4bt. (though also the most expensive. (of course if you did that then I think its a bosche ECU which may or may not be adaptable to the CCD/PCI bus)
  15. only if its a 4L See his original post. Willy Yup and gawd help some poor soul if they read that as all 98's have the AW4.
  16. Thats only if you went with larger injectors. Of course, if you use a megasquirt you won't have any overhead functions either, so its a toss up. The better option is really the newer 4.7. I saw a rolled 2004 WJ overland with the high output 4.7(which is a better engine than the 5.9, and makes more power/torque) sell for $1700 yesterday. You could sell the NAV out of it for $350, the leather seats for $200, airbags for $300, rear end $???? front end $?????. That puts you at less than $1000 for the whole swap in parts costs. Then if you used a 02+ TJ Guage cluster(which bolts in the same as the XJ gauge cluster), you would retain all your factory guages. And then if you used the WJ overhead console you would keep all the mileage functions. Plus you would have a complete engine/trans/wiring harness/computer to take with it all, and not be scrounging for parts. All the ancillary things like PS hoses, AC, etc would still require the same amount of fab as with the 360.

  18. You got about a $200 repair if you buy those parts used. thought you didn't really want to get used radiators? It would get you back on the road untill you wanted or could afford to spend $160 for a triple core rad. Of course I got lucky and found a brand new triple core rad at the junkyard, then about a week later a brand new stock double core rad.
  19. IMO it will be way easier to just let the Chrysler ECU run everything, that way all your gauges and overhead console will work right. Why spend more time and money to make a megasquirt work, when the OEM stuff is already setup and just needs some wires connected.

  21. Also this XJ sold for $1700: http://ww4.klode.com/kws/napplications/ ... Exit=Close
  22. Unfortunately it sold for more than I was willing to pay, $700, all I bid was $350. http://ww4.klode.com/kws/napplications/ ... Exit=Close Looked pretty good though, but that little bit of rust on the upper part of the bed had me worried.
  23. only if its a 4L Also, to the OP, FYI if you use the ZJ or DR computer it will have the CCD bus so all your factory guages and overhead console can be made to work seamlessly. There is a 5.9 ZJ down at a junkyard near me, If I wanted to do the 5.9 swap it was complete with everything there.
  24. Correct, same bolt pattern and everything, no fab involved. Like I said, all the masters are the same from 93-01(even though the slaves changed to the external setup later, the master is the same part) Even though the switch from the AX15 to the NV3550 occured in 2000 the master cylinders stayed the same, heck the whole master/slave setup stayed the same. But whatever, if he made it work then it doesn't matter what it came from. Most likely the yard just confused which vehicle it cam off of and sold the wrong one to him.
