  1. Wouldn't happen to be this one would it? http://mcallen.en.craigslist.org/cto/2611268080.html
  2. Congrats Rich. Very well deserved and a great example of a well done lwb.
  3. Jim, you can find it in shelbyluvv's build "project onyx". Edit: here's the link..... viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11834&start=45
  4. It was near Alto at a place called Shiloh Ridge. I've been there on a Honda Rubicon 500 once before.
  5. Welcome to the club! Nice truck too, looks like a great platform to start with. You found one of the best resources on the net and a great bunch of people as well. Where in Texas are you? (Need more Texans here....LOL)
  6. Another Android fan here. I've avoided the ianything so far. Don't plan on ever getting any of it either. I don't mind it so much, but its the prices of that crap that turn me away. So your product is made by apple. So what. It shouldn't cost double what other stuff cost. Plus the way the software is locked down is a turn off to me. Some may like it and that's fine. But I'm a tinkerer and I enjoy playing with my gadgets. Got an original Droid the day they came out and been hooked on em since. I enjoy the freedom I have with the Android platform. It does everything I want and more. BTW, this was typed and sent from my Thunderbolt.......
  7. Not sure what they do down your way as far as titles and registration goes. But here, they never looked at my truck. I put the original VIN plate on the new dash. Showed them the title and the insurance card and they gave me plates and a registration sticker. When I got it inspected, I had to point out that it was a replacement door (bar code) and the VIN they needed to run was on the dash. I did, however, call ahead of time while I was building it. I explained to them that I was replacing the dash on my truck and wanted to know if it was OK that I swap the VIN plates to keep it all correct. Told them what year model it was, ect, etc. The woman I spoke with said that it was OK that I did that and it wouldn't be a problem. I would suggest calling the DMV and making sure what's kosher there then follow suit.
  8. And a few gratuitous poser shots....... Nice view from the top
  9. Finally took the truck off road. Went to a little ATV park about 30 miles away. Trails were mostly for 4-wheelers, but they had a couple that were wide enough for a Jeep. I know these arent hard core and all, and you're welcome to make fun of me. Trails that I could fit on were pretty darn easy, but still it was nice to be off of a paved road for the first time in about 6 years!!! Really, all I wanted to do was test everything out. The suspension performed great and I'm LOVING the long arms! Didnt take many photos, but here's a few of what I did get...
  10. Well, I guess since I am "this customer", as well as the OP, I guess I should respond. However, what is there to say that my fellow MJ enthusiasts haven't already said? Thank you guys for having my back. Now with that said, you point specific things that only i know about due to it being a transaction with me. You point out that I made it sound like you "took my money and ran"? Where, in my post, did I ever mention money, a credit card, charging me, or running? don't twist my words to serve your defense. As far as you not lying to me? Well, I'm sorry, but you flat out did. "You" being Hanson collectively. Bear in mind Chris, I'm not, nor have I ever accused you directly. The lie I accuse you of is when my salesman told me, "it WILL be ready in two weeks". When it wasn't the first, second, third, or fourth time. That made it become a lie. Consider it a lie by omission if you have to. But its still a lie nonetheless. By omission, I mean your reason was production issues and delays. Fine, but you never told me that. You kept telling me it WILL be ready. Not "may", not "possibly". You say you want my money? Well, I want to give it to you. The bumper and its delays are not why I canceled my order. The way you handled business is. Another member mentioned that he received multiple calls from Hanson. As well as the president of the company contacting him to assure him of certain things. I never received a call from anyone explaining anything. It was I who made contact every time. And each time I called, I got nothing but excuses. I was even told once that there were orders in front of mine. Which, granted, may be true, but surely you weren't that far behind on total production. It was moot to tell me that anyway because I could care less about others orders. My issue was with my order. Point is, Hanson didn't handle me or my order professionally in the least. Bottom line, you guys dropped the ball and got a little mud on your face from it. I won't tell you what to do, but if it were me, i would try to save face and make it right instead of defending myself. Now, to avoid beating a dead horse too much, I'll just say that I DO believe the rear bumper from Hanson to be a quality product. I haven't come across another that compares. I still would really like to have one on my truck, would display it proudly, and trust it to take what I can dish out to it. I could believe that we could do business on this thing in the future, but as another member said, it would be up to you guys to establish some trust with this community before I will.

    Just venting

That was hilarious! Thank you Jay for making my day. Man, what I would have given to be sitting next to ya at the bar.
  12. And reassembled. Went from this.... To this.......
  13. Picked a little something up from the junkyard this weekend. Found them in a 96 2door XJ. Pulled the seats out of the truck to install these little gems. Pulled the trim off to gain access to the bolts so I could seperate the seat back from the base. See the difference?
  14. Huevo83, I'm not sure I understand your question. Maybe post it in tech and more of the guys that have used the Dakota tank will see it and chime in. The way I understand your question is the pump/float assembly is not sliding easily into the hole on the Dakota tank? If it'll go all the way in and sit flush without too much effort (hammer) then I would push it into place, screw the ring onto it, and call it a day.
  15. Ha, yeah. I had fun at the dealership. Told the service writers I needed to have the key fob programmed and I needed someone to investigate the airbag light on my truck. He said no problem, what do you have. I said an '89 Jeep Comanche. He looked at me funny and informed me that those don't have airbags. I said, Um......this one does. Not believing me he said lets take a walk, I gotta see this thing. I told him for all intensive purposes, lets pretend its a 2001 Jeep Cherokee. I explained to him what was done as he looked it over and he finally understood. They kept it for about half the day and called me back around 3pm. Dude tells me its done and I need to hurry up and come get it. I asked why and he said all the mechanics are too busy looking it over inside and out and they're not getting any work done on anything else. After a good laugh, he congratulated me on the job I did with he conversion and explained to me that the airbag light was due to the main plug for the airbag module not being seated all the way into the socket. Man, I felt like a douche when I heard that one. After all that work and headache, I simply didn't plug a plug in fully? Oh well. Anyway, I went to pick it up and had a fun talk with most of the mechanics on shift that day.
  16. Brett is correct. Spencer from jeepsticker sent me the reflective letters for the tailgate. They really are a quality product. I guess I really should put them on and take some pictures. I took the Jeep to work every day last week and to visit my family yesterday. It was a 100 mile round trip in 95 degree weather. Found I'm getting an average of 14mpg highway and 9mpg city, with a combined of 12mpg. The truck performed like a champ as I was hoping it would. Its enough to convince me it will make it to the trails and back just fine. As far as I'm concerned, its ready for daily driving as well as ofroad duty.
  17. They're not doing the discount anymore, unfortunately. I just ordered a pair. Still worth it at $16/ea + ship, in my opinion. Oh well. It was worth a shot.
  18. You will have to cut the plug off your harness and crimp some female spade terminals on. There are wiring instructions included with the lights to help you out.
  19. The aftermarket lights that myself as well as a few others here have used are from a company called "Euramtec". You can find them on eBay. Mention that your a comancheclub member for a discount as well. Here's the eBay link to them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Universa ... 1c1aead25d They take a small amount of clearancing to fit in the OEM holes. But they work great. Check my build thread in my sig for some photos of them installed.
  20. No major updates. Changed the oil yesterday and replaced tie rod ends and aligned the front end today. Its going to the dealership Friday to check why the airbag light is lit. I don't have a DRBIII scanner or the 4000 bucks to get one so I reluctantly have to leave it with them. May as well get them to program the key fob while I'm there.
  21. Man, that looks great! Good job.
  22. The line from the firewall goes to the port nearest the switch on the accumulator. The line from the compressor goes to the port nearest the fender.... HTH!
  23. Changed the oil.
  24. Yes sir, have the reflective stickers from jeepsticker.com.
