A Waggy. Should have known with the faux woodgrain bezel. Nah, that sounds like a wiring/sensor nightmare not worth the effort. But I think I'll slide down to the yard tomorrow and remove everything else I need to finish the ohc. if you need wiring diagrams i can send em to you. i have them for a 91 but it has to be better then nothing. plus if you want me to i can get you some pics of how i trimmed my ohc and how it will look once i get it up. any pics? i let my subscription run out because i was sick of the mag. but now i bet there will be more mj stuff in it. Alex

Thanks, I'll relook my XJ console. I know where to get the missing sensor half and the mounting bracket under the headliner. I have also fitted a GM auto-dimming mirror w. two Hologen map side lights, so I'm set for interior light. I'd love to lay hands on a Sentinel clock module. Like I said, never have seen one in person. Heard it was only provided on some export XJ's. Just curious; how did you luck out and find this jewel? Don it came out of a waggy xj. but they were only in a few of those still. I'm not sure if i am going to use it or not, with it coming from an older jeep and mine being a 91 it might be tough to do. or more then i want to get into anyways. from what i am running into and seeing in books and stuff. yea i need to get the sensor half of the ohc and the mounting brackets, but none of the xjs in jys around me have them left in them. :headpop: Alex -
Can't turn left-or right for that matter!

yep, sounds to me like you have the same problem i am havin, but more air then i have in mine. mine is harder to turn then my other mjs i had IIRC but i know its air because it creeks when i turn it. just bleed it all out and you should be good to go. Alex -

yea i got sort of mixed up there. no it did not come with my 91 from the factory, i don't think any mj did. i am going to splice it in and put the sensors in what i can since i will never find another one to take the parts out of that i would need. and i forgot that the 91 clocks differed from the older clocks, other then being brighter lcd or whatever. the xj ohc is pretty easy to hook up now that i got into looking at it, found out i was missing the sensor half of the setup. it trims nice and neat back before you get to the spot where the remote sensor would be. makes it about the perfect length for the mj cab, unless you want it to go all the way to the back of the cab. can i move in with one of you two if that happens? lol. Alex

well i can't say i am having the same problem with my 91 but close. mine has a new pump and everything too but when i turn it it creaks and whines once it gets turned "too far". it is also harder to steer then my other MJs were. I'm thinking there is air in my system which could also be your case since its a new pump with no leaks. how are your joints and everything in the rest of your steering? Alex -
i know what would be funny/good. lets all take a trip to this junkyard and wheel along the way. and when we get there, there won't be much of their mj selection left. both things i have wanted from the though they don't have. rear bumpers and cargo lights. go fig. Alex

 this is to us Ohioans who deal with rust so bad that a new car rusts in 5 years. so we think SS first when we can. lol. i have so much SS stuff on my 91 that if the body rusts, there will be SS bolts, washers, and nuts fallin off everywhere. Alex
-
sounds like what i did on all of my flares, i also used SS nylon lock nuts. I have some pics i will post that show just how well it looks and works. plus i might still have some around and i might be able to post sizes that seemed to fit perfectly. Alex

this is why i am taking a road trip there in the future. i need a new bed bad. Alex

i have the factory xj ohc temp/compass that i am workin on puttin in my 91. i also have the xj indicator panel clock he was talkin about. look for both things to be going in this summer and the write ups will be in my projects topic. there is a pic of the indicator he is talkin bout in there now. Geeat Alex - would love to see some pics since I'm planning of replacing my rears soon. BTW, still have any good contacts with the stealership?? :brows: actually yes. they won't give me stuff free anymore, but they still give me the worker discount since we have bought a new PT and a used Silverado off them plus soon i will be buying a 4dr wrangler rubi or gladiator. so they give me the discount still. Alex
-
i got a new set from the stealership i use to work at for free. and there is a much better way to put flares back on then with factory bolts and stuff. i will get some pics of how i always put em back on in my 91 eliminator 4x4 project topic tomorrow. you don't even need the stupid plastic strip in the back or the metal strip that is always just one big rust part. Alex

that was it. thanks joe. i just could not remember the name for some reason, and my favs list is so big and unorganized i couldnt find it if i knew the name. Alex
-
what was it called? i know it was just on here not that long ago. had the pic with all the MJs. they are just a jeep junkyard in CA. does anyone have the site or the link to the last post with the site in it? i can't remember what post that was in. thanks, and sry for being stupid right now Alex

actually, weren't all black ones unpainted? unless done after the truck was bought. Alex
-
yea that is a tad too much with all the flat black. that would look good if you took your truck and had it painted black. mine looked really sharp being all shiny black, but i don't like the 8 slot grilles. Alex
-
that. Alex
-
I still don't even have one, or the headlight bezels. Money has been too tight for me since I moved into my new place. Looks real nice though, I don't think I've ever seen a factory black one that shiny before. i think that one has the chrome on it, its hard to tell. didnt you take one of the header panels with the grille and stuff on it when you bought the truck? Alex

well I'm sure you could, but I'm also sure there is a max. i know pat had to cut his frame to make the a/c fit on his 3800. and yes chevys are slow. and this 91 elim is far faster then my 88 elim was. i actually was racing a newer hemi charger on 71 not too long ago. him and two others were doing like 90 in the fast lane. so i got behind the last guy and then they got over but the charger kept going. so i got up behind him just to see how well this 91 could do. lets say i had no clue how fast i was going, the gauge was maxed out, but it was loving it and had no problems. why not just break the wheeling section down into regions? and all the stuff that is there now, rather then go through it all, put it into "other" or "past trips"? like on the main page have a section called "wheeling or other trips" as a title, then under it have the regions and "other" or "past trips" as links into those topics. and i like the idea or having mods for each section from that region. maybe someone from each section that is on the most. Alex
