  1. Glad to see you have it back. :)
  2. Again, you need to read the whole thread and understand the location that he lives in. Salted roads plus a salted atmosphere, from the bay with the largest tides in the world - straight in from the Atlantic. They don't come a lot better than this is his neck of the woods.
  3. Definately. Thx dude.
  4. I don't have one, but I bolted my ashtray shut and mounted my CB there. Just enough otherwise useless space there in front of the shifter.
  5. Okay, I see now....shweet pic. I'll have to pick one of those up sometime.
  6. I need to install a kill switch for the fuel pump. Might break into it, but it ain't going nowhere. ;)
  7. I put a 194 into the plug, but it didn't seem to light up the bluish ring very much.
  8. "ride, horsie, ride...."
  9. anyone, before I put it back together? ;)
  10. Okay, I had to take the lighter apart today to clean it, so I thought I'd check this too. I found the or/blk pigtail....where does it connect to, and where does the light actually come from?
  11. I meant trying to drill in the fact that the welding needs to be done correctly....NOT the truck itself. 8)
  12. Remember, engines like to start warm, and suck cold air.....not the other way around. I plug my diesels in up here even when I don't really need to.
  13. I think the horse is dead....but seeing as this is a Comanche forum, let's ride him for a few more miles anyway. :clapping:
  14. plus he lives next to salt water.
  15. I usually slide it back on one wire then just butt the 2 wires together so they overlap and intertwine with each other. I strip about a 1/4 to 3/8 inch of insulation off each wire. When you heat it you can see the solder flowing onto the wire because the heat shrink is translucent. So, you know your done when the solder flows. I think they come in different gauges. Mac... That's the way I figured they'd be safe to use.... sweet.
  16. Enough room to slide it back over the wire, splice together, then heat?
  17. So how about something junkyard for a 3" lift....wagoneer or something?
  18. Now that would be a good reason. :smart:
  19. Than stock? ;) (ooh.....300th post lol)
  20. :rotf: I'm with Pete on this one: 1) Moving to a different forum of the same type, and posting without thinking, using smilies, etc. will probably garner the same results. Now, granted, there are forums out there where that type of posting will fit in....but they are not the same atmosphere. 2) Selling the truck because you are no longer welcome is probably the most bogus thing you have ever posted. (not sure, not going to check). Disagreements and occasionally (even more than that maybe) posting stupid stuff does not make YOU unwelcome....just "those" types of posts - of which I'm sure ditching you reluctance to use smilies would fix most of them. :) IMO, you are the type of guy who is the life of the party that everyone would like to sit and have a beer with. A few conflicts on here shouldn't be reason to sell your truck. If you do, good luck with the sale. 8)
  21. Is it possible to install longer springs of some type with minimal work (hanger relocation, or slightly longer), in order to get a smoother ride?
  22. Good tips. :clapping: I have another thing learned: No matter how much she loves you, honestly...she does not care about your experiences working on your rigs.
  23. I think that is pretty normal Pete. You'll find that in a smaller site like CC, that the people who "post the most" will account for a larger percentage than on a larger site. Edit: I bet if you check the stats on the inside, there will be a HUGE jump in the amount of people now checking to see where they rank for member posts. lol :D
  24. Sell the car, get the XJ, buy olive drab spray paint. 8)
  25. Good call Pete. I normally have glasses on for that reason, but the ear plugs make sense.
