I know lots of people add power steering but how could I remove it just switch to manual. Can i just remove the pump cap the steering box and throw a shorter belt on or do I have to replace the steering box with a manual one. The main thing is i don't want to spend the money to replace the leaky steering box. or should i just suck it up and do it?

Dodge Slant-6 Engine.
anti-christ-comanche replied to onlyinajeep726's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i got a rusty dodge dart with a 904 and a slant six with 65k on it sitting in my front yard i get 24mpg with that sucker and besides the oil leak that i need to fix the thing is great (engine not the car. car is pos lol) these engines can't go wrong i know someone with a old d100 with a /6 that has over 300,000 on it runs great. and on the multi port check this out.http://www.slantsix.org/articles/dibiase_efi/efi-conversion.htm he uses all junk yard parts basically. its a gm setup but I'm sure you could do something similar with the renix like u say. since i got my jeep ive always wondered about swapping a /6 in that sucker. just way to long(for my 86 that is) -

really like your jeep have went though your thread before because there is not alot of people doing anything with 4banger jeeps so i like seeing another 2.5 out there being used and enjoyed! -
I'm pretty much done with the electric fan swap but have run into an issue with the wiring part. the fan is just a single speed 16 inch fan and i got the normal controller and wiring kit with a radiator probe i have all the wires done now except the controller wire lead needs to be connected to something that is "hot" in run only neither of my books have good diagrams so i figured my best bet was to come here! so basically what would be a good wire i could splice into for the controller power on a 86 2.5. i can post more info on controller fan pictures if yall need. thanks for any assistance!

2.5 Intake Manifold Bolts
anti-christ-comanche replied to anti-christ-comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That is great! Because I'm afraid of those breaking to but what about the intake manifold bolts the top ones?? -
Doing some tinkering today and noticed that a couple of the bolts are missing.the ones that attach the manifold to the head.(this would probably explain the vacuum leak) anyone know the size of these guys would be greatly appreciated (p.s i did look in the bolt screw section wasn't there)

ah that little seal...ive removed the throttle body before wasnt to bad to take off the hardest thing to remove was the braket that holds the throttle cable in place once you have that off and the two fuel lines off theres 4 nuts on the intake manifold to pull off and you have it.... here's a great kit to buy has all the gaskets and o rings you need to rebuild the throttle body. get it nice and clean while your at it lol http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=CRB21722A_0306166845 ...BACK TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD! how about any sealants used with the gasket??

my exhaust fell off the other week so went into the exhaust shop and got it fully replaced new cat muffler and pipes but while there the guy reminded me my exhaust and intake manifold was leaking and said i should get it fixed asap for i could melt the cat and potently burn my valves out. he also said those combination manifolds gaskets are a pain to replace.any tips on doing this job and anything i should check while I'm down there anyway. its a 86 4 banger

so the truck has a real rough idle its been goin on awhile ik that the intake manifold is leaking but i can't do that till it warms up! some things ive done is replaced some vacuum hoses about a month ago i took apart the throttle body and got it squeaky clean. i got new plugs and wires and I'm waiting for the cap rotor and new ignition coil to come in... thats all good and all but everytime i crank the steering wheel all the way over it kills it self!!!! it kills itself just at idle to i can rev it up to like 4000 then it will go down to like 1500 then 1000 then 700-800 then kupit kupit big shake dead!!!!!! when its warmed up good it won't die but the engine shakes so much sounds like its running one two or three cylinders and the whole truck shakes! kinda scares me sounds like the thing is gonna shake to death. any suggestions on what to do and or what it might be would be great.

i bought my ar about two years ago got it used for about 600 its a bushmaster 16.5 barrel and solid stock for all the research ive done on it i can't find one that came from factory like this one so the dude before me custom made it weird. solid stock heavy barrel muzzle break kinda looks like a ak one and non removable carry handle. realy nice gun tho can hit a regular target at 300 meters from bench. proves you don't need any fancy sight and lazers and grips and sh*t to have a decent rifle
