Well, I am a bit concerned.. but at 70 bucks its not awful and don't forget this place always has good stuff @ half or LESS. SO don't judge just by cost alone... You all know I'm a big proponent of you get what you pay for...so time will tell.. I did use it tonight... I drained and changed the rear diff oil and checked the lug nuts on three jeeps... found the fronts on the MJ a bit loose. It was able to remove the tightest nut I found... SO, so far so good... Online reports don't say anything really bad...not mike RYOBI stuff... CW

Are you talking about the footman loops attached to the floor in the back? If so, WB is correct. Actually they are for the upper doors to be tied down... CW

I did a couple searches and the cheapest I could find was 134!! EBay has them for up to 160!!! Just passing along a good deal!! CW

plug wires to dc???
CWLONGSHOT replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Next time change the wires one at a time.... Quick story... When I was a kid a was doing a tune up @ school, on a 6 cyl '67 Chevelle. I KNOW I should have done the wires one at a time, BUT I found a pic plainly showing all wires and where they went. SO, I pulled off the cap, wires, rotor and plugs and started changing everything for new.. Don't you know that the motor must have "jumped a tooth" on the timing chain as the thing wouldn't run rite until all where advanced one hole... Problem was, it blew off and blew out the brand new muffler another kid installed... CW -

Lookie what I ran across... of coarse it is built for the roof of an XJ, but closely mirrors my ideas!!! Could easily be modded for the bed of a PU. http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1009917&page=2 CW -

my MJ stinks like gas ?!?!?
CWLONGSHOT replied to one_bad_MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ALSO the hoses that run into the tank are known leakers. the "pipes" running into the tank are glued in and The "glue" dries out and splits causing a leak. But only leaks when the fuel level reaches that point. At other times it simply smells. Likely you hit it while wheeling last week causing the problem... Welcome to the joys of owning a 20+ year old vehicle... :D CW -
EXACTLY what I'm talking about...Life is hard enough, its harder when your stupid...(Marion Morrison...AKA John Wayne) CW

A Hi-pinion axle runs a reverse cut ring gear. (From bottom to the top) Its not simply a upside down axle like some think.. The Hi-Pinion also doesn't use a crush sleeve as the std D30 does further making it stronger. The obvious purpose is to increase ground clearance... CW

Sorry stepped away for a bit... At least you got it!! Yea the WD in WD 40 stands for Water Displacement 40th version... Its designed for the displacement of water and spraying, wiping the inside of the cap is one thing its excels at!! Spraying the fuses would be just as good!! Its works well for removing some permanent markers and crayon marks too.. kinda sux for lubrication or rust prevention, but that's OK there is other stuff that works for that!! Now do something to better protect those fuses!!! If a rain fall takes you out your not protecting them enough... CW

I don't "charge" but people usually offer to pay... I usually don't accept, as I said. When someone is stupid and causes there own troubles and I risk possible possible damage to mine to get there sorry arse out...I accept the $$$

I wouldn't soak the coil pack with the WD.. just the inside of the cap!! CW
-
I would try to get a spark on steel not the alum valve cover... For the coil follow the coil wire... What do you mean "dirty" cap? When was the last tune up? Maybe its simply time for new cap, rotor, wires and plugs?!?! You did say it ran fine last nite rite?? CW

LOL. If I pull enough people out it might pay for the hooks. :D There ya go!! Every winter I pull people up, across or out of the ditch on a hill near my home. Most times I tell them no charge. When its an arrogant kid with a rice burner who's stuck by his own fault, I collect a sawbuck or two... ;)

A while back i made up a PVC air tube to eliminate the air box as a test.. It worked, but didn't turn me on so the factory box went back in... Well I made a late trip to AutoZone last night to PU a BRACKETRON cell phone holder http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... sa=title#p that I ordered and some hypoid to change the lube in my rear diff. Last week I found my rear breather tube had been pulled off and I'm concerned I am making a water/oil shake in my rear diff... (Been driving the TJ all week). Anyhow, while walking down the isles to see what I "needed" :D I saw some 3" exhaust sections... I envisioned the Rusty's air tube... and thought I can make that!! So in the basket it went!! I doug thru the scrap metal bin and found some 1/2" and 5/8" steel tube for the air lines. Now just to go weld everything up... won't get it in today as its raining pretty good here, but I should be able to weld it up!! Stay tuned for pics and parts list if any of you guys wanna make one too. CW

Does it turn over and just not fire? If yes, pull the cap and CK for moisture. if you find some, spray it out with WD-40. Then check the coil on the pass fender. Is that wet? blow it off and see what you get... CW

can some one explain
CWLONGSHOT replied to xflowdaboi352's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The AW4 tranny shifts electronically, so as mentioned it simply shanges the electronic shift points for better power or better economy. CW -
Its a jeep and its a truck... ADD TOW POINTS!!! Your gonna need them at some point, if for nothing else but to pull others out of the ditch!! :brows: CW
