  1. Jage, Does your tank have an adjustable regulator? I cannot see how it could be slow if it can seat a bead, as this requires a large amount of air all at once. What is the pressure set at? As you see above, I have a 10 & a 20lb setup, one for each rig and I have no issues with reseating beads, same as you. But mine will fill a tire in about 15 - 20 secs, from 10 pounds to street pressure. With the pressure set at about 100. Faster with it higher.  I have tried them @$$ and nothing I have found will be faster on the trail than the CO2 set up. As long as its pressure is adjustable. CW

  4. I decided to go with the JCR setup again. I have a complete set of TRE's for it as backup and I also have a couple sets of outer hubs. So I can have one set reamed along with a pitman arm and throw it in on a warm day when I have time off. I'll do my ball joints at the same time. Price is right and its mighty beefy!! CW

  7. I didnt check it as I couldnt find my meeter.....but dosent much matter. I bought the wrong mast...its NOT TUNEABLE!!! :headpop: :headpop: I'm going wheeling Sunday, so I'll have more pics up sunday night. CW UPDATE; CB works AWESOME!! SWR is near 1:1, puts out very well. I was able to talk to the convoy of trucks leaving the trail LONG after everyone else went quiet.
  8. I got the CB in today!! I mounted it on the pass side as close to the ash tray as I could get. I tried a bunch to mount places for the antenna. But finally decided on a weld on tab to the doen tubes of the roll bar. I also didnt like the lopsided look of a single antenna, so I mounted two! :D I ran the wires for the lights and the antenna wire inside the roll bar tubes for a clean install. I will silicone up the hole so I do not get any chaffing of the wires. The power is direct with a relay and a fuse, siwtched thru the ignition. It works very well, I was able to speak with My buddie over a mile away. I couldn't hear him at all, but he could hear me clearly. CW
  9. To bad you are so far away....I have a couple of those lower dash pieces.... I just put in mine today... I added some brackets to my roll bar for the antennas... CW CW

  11. I would do what Pete suggests and watch for a used set. SOMEBODY up there is gonna upgrade....... CW
  12. Mine are home built from 2" square stock. CW
  13. CORRECT, No pull in 2WD. Actually there would be no pulling in 2WD even if the axle WAS engaged, it would just bind and skid the inside tire in corners. The pulling comes from the 100% traction to only ONE of the front tires when you shift into 4WD. The pulling becomes VERY noticeable when the traction is different for the rear axle compaired to the front. IE rear axle on ice while front is on clear pavement. Because the front axle steers, it will pull in the direction it gets the most traction in. CW
  14. Why haven't you bought this yet??????????????????????????
  15. No heims for me, at least not on a trail/street rig! How badly was the contact? Was it something you lived with and if not what did you do about it? I WOULD just go Currie, but it dosent address the inverted "Y" steering. I MUCH prefer a hub to hub tierod, with a short draglink. CW
  16. Any one here ever have this? http://rustysoffroad.com/Merchant2/merc ... y_Code=ste I have the JCR 1 ton upgrade on the TJ and do like it, only thing is, all the holes need to be reamed for the larger TRE's. This setup looks basically the same, only uses factory sized TRE's. So no reaming, IE extra cost or time. Another question, these TRE's are they TJ sized or ZJ sized??? As many of you know, I am not a fan of RUSTYS stuff. But I know many like it. This looks simple enough, don't know how you could screw it up. I want it for the MJ....the Drag link is getting a bit loose from the excessive angles of my almost 7" of lift. I am going to throw on a ZJ pitman arm and see what that does for me. I am also looking into flopping the TRE's. But that will necessitate the re-engineering of the sway bar linkage.... LMK, CW
  17. Bounty, Not trying to offend and there are certainly no hard feelings. You keep saying your locked in the front but you have a disco. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE there. Of coarse driving with the front locked will only pull in the direction of travel. just like if you try to hard ACCELORATE with the axle disco'd (3WD) you WILL be pulled into oncoming traffic. Normal driving, non agressive, with the disco not engaged (3WD) will drive fairly normally. When you do engage the front, it will be hard to steer in corners and you will have accelorated tire wear. These are just plain physical facts. Again, no offence meant. I just want the guys who have no idea what they are in for, if they try this. An idea of how this will adversly effect their trucks. What you or I can "deal" with it in our rigs, thats not quite the same as driving normally. I just want them to know that they will also need to "deal" with it in theirs. CW
  18. If I have it I will send it to you no charge. After you get it if you want to send back the shipping charge it is up to you. I just figured I would help a fellow jeeper out. CW
  19. You certainly could build your own. Just do it smart, copy a big name brand!! There are different styles of shackles. IE, YJ ones will not work as they have the both bushings in the frame. Yes cheby shackles fron 1500-2500's will work. Rule of thumb with shackles. As they only lift one end of the spring, they need to be two times as long to get half the lift. MJ shackles are about 4.5" long. So, to get two inches of lift from shackles alone, you would need a shackle that measured 8.5" long. These measurements are from hole to hole OR eye to eye, get it?? CW
  20. That's what the posilok is for, turning is a lot easier in 3wd. Although I often leave mine engaged and add a few points to the tightest trail turns. You most defineately will have increased tire wear. think about it, you HAVE TO!! The inside tire is spinning at the same speed as the out side tire, yet its turning a smaller arch. That squeal you hear in most every turn is TIRE WEAR!!! Sure rotating will EVEN our the wear, but your only kidding your self to think it is slowing it down. As for the front, the posi lock will make it driveable. BUT if you need to accellorate HOLD ON!!! it will PULL you big time into oncoming traffic!! Yes this is experience talking!!! I would just hate to see you guys do something this drastic only to find it unsafe/undriveable. Some of the guys on here have "been there and done that" the others can learn from us!! CW
  21. I gotta tell you. If you are driving this rig on the street, I would seroiusly reconsider the use of a spool in the rear and FORGET ABOUT IT in the front!!! If you will take my advice, save your money and buy Lock-rites, Aussie lockers or EZ lockers. Its will become a trail only rig and even then you will quickly tire of the inability to make tight turns. Thjis is the BIGGEST REASON no one carries a D30 spool, it is primairly a front axle and very few spoll the front od a D30. BTW, a lincoln locker, done correctly is only as strong as its carrier, reguardless of what axle it is done to. CW
  22. South, I may have the switch panel you are missing from your dash. You know the one where your CB mike is placed. LMK, if you want it, I'll send it to you. Just let me find it first...its a one of about a dozen boxes of miscellaneous small jeep parts. CW
  23. This is GREAT!! Congratulations of the new rig!! What are your plans? Or are you just winging it as I am. :brows: Keep up the post. We LOVE to watch the progress!!! CW
  24. YUP, Same 2.5" width. Remember, MJ shackles give XJ's about, .75" of lift. if the shackles leafs where diff widths the shackles would not fit. CW
  25. Just Rustolium it!!! This is a twice yearly thing for me and my jeeps!!! Every spring as it gets warm enough I get under it after a good cleaning and spray away!!! I do the same ting in October for the winter!!! Its CHEAP insurance!! CW
