love it :D  Icon sure makes some cool stuff.

a multi-layered sheetmetal chassis... where have I seen that before...   oh right! :comanche:   we have something in common with the rolls-royce. (though not something I'm especially appreciative of)

I never understood why any jeep guy would be a purist. Jeep never had a problem putting other automakers engines and transmissions in their product.

AMC and Buick engines in Kaiser Jeeps.

Chevy and Renault engines in XJ’s.

TH400’s and TF727’s and TF999 in SJ’s and CJ’s. Plus there’s more I’m sure.

What did you do to "sort it out"?

Damn, I love that Bentley dash and gauges.

Those are aftermarket gauges.

I had 41 hours of living with this car, not counting road tests that stranded me twice.

Mostly driveability issues. vapor lock, underhood temps, overheating, fan issues.

Here is a short summary from memory after it was done. I know it's maybe 2/3 of what I did. I'd fix one thing and note 2 or 3 that needed to be addressed in the future.

+One of my propane customers.

He and some old hotrod builders built it over a period of a few years in Kalifornia.

He hated the way it drove and stranded him and was ready to put it in his barn and cover it up. Had $80K into the build.

His neighbor, who has a 51 Chevy Pickup resto-rod I helped sort out, told him to give me a call.
