I have seen a few people put the XJ retractable lights in their MJ. Is there a plug for it to plug into or do you have to splice it in somewhere?

I have an 89 pioneer. Did you use a light from an XJ or an MJ? Can you post a pic of the plug in your 89? or explain where its at?

My 89 has the light on it.. But it also has the cargo and dash lights too.

I bet it there. Might have to look hard to find it, but I bet its there..

On the 91 it breaks out of the right side firewall harness. I put one of the mercury switch lights in and added an inline switch so I could kill the light if I didn't it.

In my '89 it's under the coolant bottle (I added the wire wrap):

This is the end that plugs into the light (ground is from body attachment):

This is the light I have, I think it was available on both MJs and XJs:

Here's a diagram from the Electrical manual:

Off topic, but is that stock under hood insulation? I haven't seen that on any of the MJ's I've looked at...

I think fiat used clips from another year to hold it on because thay wanted a few bucks for them and you need alot. I will be ordering one soon.

No those are the regulation fasteners. I replaced my old ratty hood pad and reused the originals. I've seen these fasteners at Lowes too. When you install the hood pad you have to drill out the swo steel rivets from the cross-hood rod bracket, them pop-rivet it back on.
