trippnk
What did ya'll that have done a 8.8 swap use for new spring plates since the u-bolts are wider? Can the stock plates be re-used? They will look like poo but if they will work I might use them. I already have new shock mounts so I don't need the stockers for that. reson46
I used the 8.8 u-bolt plates. Asked for them at the junk yard when I picked up the axle and he gave them to me. Willy

Well what ever, but you are to search first then ask. Some people don't like reposting twice. I'm all for asking whatever when ever but help yourself first. If not then screw it, I won't try to help. JeepcoMJ
*sigh* the search here doesn't work too well...well, at least not for new members. I'm all for posting up...someone else is bound to know exactly the thread that has the rest of the info. as for the spring plates, get 'em from a junkyard, or take your ubolts and make a set so your ubolts fit in them (you'll need to slot the holes so that when you tighten them they can move inwards a bit). make sure you drill the holes wied enough that your leaf pack fits. This is why I posted the link for him, then said use search please, #1 rule be nice, I felt I was. I knew he was new so posted link and told him of the search button. Well, then people want to jump on my case saying not to turn this in NAXJA, but even Pete asked to use search button and to post in similar treads and to conserve space for the forum. But when you use the search button, click all terms and it shall work for you. As far as the Nookie, I know right, damn Aunt Flow is in town. :grrrr:
Pete M
Holy cow guys. Go grab a beer and chill out. For the record, I always prefer members to ask their questions. If their topic was covered, feel free to search it for them and post the link. If you don't like reposting answers, then don't feel that you need to. There are plenty people here so noone should feel the need to cover everything all the time. I think we have a simple misunderstanding here. Whether Mini meant it that way or not, I think we've all seen way too many "use the search feature you noob!" posts on other forums that his particular words took on a "tone" because of their similarity. It's not his fault. He even said please. :D The way I would have put it is "If I remember right, this was talked about a couple days ago. A quick search should bring it up." Notice that it wasn't a "command" phrase in any way shape or form. (I realize "command" isn't the right word here, but it's been a few years since I had my last grammar class  ) Or I would have simply posted the link to the topic. It takes only a few seconds for a seasoned searcher to find stuff and even less if it's in your head anyway. And remember, not everyone that can find his/her way here really knows all that much about computers. I bet my grandfather could get here, but he hasn't a clue how to post or search. I'm not even certain if he understands the concepts. (I'm bringing him up as an example because I'm the one who's been teaching him how to use his computer and I've been finding it hard to explain certain basic concepts, like when you should "click" or "double click", or what a "folder" is) :hateputers: Bottom line, don't ever assume that the person on the other end of the internet has the same understanding as you. Searching is actually a decently complex procedure and if you aren't good at it, can get very frustrating in a hurry. So now that I've rambled on this long, go grab another beer and everyone lighten up. (as long as it's not dyed green. If I ever see another green beer it'll beer too soon) :ack:
