a1awind
sounds like the "up shift" light. when the truck wants you to up shift the light comes on.

Pathkiller
One of Jeep's stupider ideas. Even my 98 TJ has one. Amazing how quickly your brain completely ignores it. I shift when I want to, not when the idiot light tells me to.
Geonovast
Pop the cluster out and pull that stupid bulb out. Your sanity will thank you. When it goes off is based on RPM, nothing else. That's why it goes off in 5th, and my old XJ used to throw it at me in reverse too. Apparently, the newer ones go off of a memory system, they're supposed to remember the last RPM you shifted at, and go off then the next time. Pete M
The one in my 88 was haunted. I eventually exorcised it with an awl and a hammer. :D
