feerocknok Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Would someone please take a pic for him? I'd do it, but the previous owner of mine cut off the top to get to the fan easier (idiot). Help your fellow MJ owner.
mjeff87 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I can snap a couple off of mine after work tonight and post them in the morning. Jeff
Dennis Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Hay I found one at a junk yard but a pic still would be nice I still have an over heating problem I have changed the thermostat the radiator cap & put on the junkyard shroud it still gets hot also flushed it out :?: :(
87manche Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Ok, warm the motor until the thermostat opens. Then turn off the motor. Feel the surface of the radiator. It should be warm top to bottom. If the top is warm and the bottom cold then it's likely the bottom pasages are filled with crud and blocked. The other possibility is that your water pump is worn and not moving enough fluid. Did the 2.5 have the same closed cooling system the 4.0 did? If so then make sure the "turtle" coolant bottle is sealing properly. Not holding pressure will lead to boilovers.
pingpong Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Do a pressure check on the Cooling system. it is the easiest way to find if the cooling system has a leak. Are you having to add coolant to the motor? Is the oil milky white, or is it good in color? also does the engine have a sporatic miss in it? Patrick
