Suggestions and insight on moving a travel trailer

No, not with the Comanche, haha. I live in South Carolina, but on an extended contract here in Midland Texas. It's about 1700 miles one way. I'm really not wanting to put the wear and tear on my truck to drive all the way back to turn right around after picking it up, do any of you have experience with hauling your RVs by other means? I contemplated uhaul, but their trucks don't have brake controllers, and it would cost me $1600 one way not including fuel. Ideally I'd fly back to SC (free flights through company) and drive it back. Any thoughts on this? Thanks guys.

Trailer: 2024 Grand Design 22RBE, about 26 feet long.

You could see about renting a TURO in your area, some times there are one-ton trucks to rent, but you might see they have limited mileage ranges and whatnot.

I'm a little confused, you need to go to SC from TX to get your trailer to TX?

Correct, I'm already in Texas and would need to head back to SC to bring it back to TX. Probably not really viable unless I just drive my truck, which I wouldn't do. Just trying to see yalls suggestions, maybe I'm missing an option I hadn't thought about.

You might be able to look into a shipping company that will just hook onto it and tow it down for you. I would assume something like that exists.

Problem I see with that is securing the TT inside the container will be a challenge.  My opinion, drive it. Enjoy the journey and make some fun out of it.

Uship.com might be of help.

I'll look into that, thanks.

How big of a trailer is it?

It's a 26ft, I think 13.5ft tall, forgot width. Nothing crazy, about 5300 pounds dry.

I used Uship to deliver an enclosed 32' trailer.  He just hooked his dually to it and pulled it 900 miles to me.  Very reasonable.

How much did that trip cost?
