Eagle_SX4
I am thinking of converting to the open cooling system and would like to use the renix 2.5 coolant bottle. Does any one know if it will fit with a 97+ washer bottle?
eaglescout526
Isnt the 97-01 washer bottle in the fender? But I dont see why not. The overflow is as close to the radiator support as it gets.

I have looked at pics of both the 97+ bottles and the 2.5 coolant bottle and it looks like they might interfere with one another. 88 2.5 99 4.0 Borrowed the pics from the engine bay reference thread. fiatslug87
It will interfere. Here’s a picture from HOrnbrod and mine the tank goes to that dimple in the fender which is past the filler neck.

Salvagedcircuit
Huh. I guess if you wanted to get creative and heatgun the side of a 2.5L coolant bottle, it might work. Just gingerly heat the plastic enough that it deforms but does not melt through. You may lose capacity, but if it fits, it ships
Eagle_SX4
Thanks for the replies. I will need to find a different solution for the coolant bottle.
