Modifying MJ Tach for V8

Hey has anyone ever modified our stock tachs to work with a V8? I found a thread for a YJ but it was a 95 and I’m not sure how similar our clusters are to those “other” jeeps   In that they swapped out a resistor and were able to adjust the Guage to work. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks

The 87-96 clusters have a pot on the tach that can be adjusted and more than likely read a V8

Mine has 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder on the back. Only those two options... If there is a dash that has a v8 option please I want to know where so I can do this also!! lol

V8’s use 4cyl mode most of the time.

You sure? That pot can be adjusted pretty far.

I'm certain mine only has a 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder marked on it... But I'm looking for more info if the v8 is an option!! Maybe ill pull the dash again and get a picture..

Really???? Ill give that a shot if thats the case! Ill get the picture and if theres no v8 option like eaglescout is suggesting ill just click it to the 4 cylinder spot. Thank you!

Yep, should work for most applications
