“JEEP” letters

That's not what I had holding mine in. It was a flat(-ish) washer that pressed on. 

 

Anybody use these thread cutting nuts successfully on a jeep? I've used those on Chevys but the emblem studs are longer with a very coarse thread cast in it.

That's not what mine had when I took it apart. It was more of a beveled washer that pushed on.

That is what is on all the letters I have taken off which is 3 different sets.

If you are looking for something different a push nut could also work but the are very difficult to remove.

 

You would need one that is designed for a 1/8" inch post. Here are some at Napa. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_6653208

Those are the little devils right there. None of my letters have threads on them and I broke nearly every single push nut while I was taking them off for paint.

My gf had my letters with her... so here's the back of one of my "E"s. No threads.
