Drahcir495
I know I said that the MJ I have now would be the last Jeep I buy, but I just saw the Street Comanche forum and the itch is back . I would like to know what year it was available? I don't know how much they are going for, but I can weigh out the cost of a real street Comanche vs one set up from OGR. I want to have a daily driver as I can justify it with this plan.
eaglescout526
1987. The only year you could get them and usually from a dealer in California.
Drahcir495
Thank you. California is a bit far. I have some family out that way, so I can have them look for me. I think I will find a short bed around here and build a clone out of it. If I can save a little something from the house sale. I really should be focusing on the one I have now if I can snap out of this . . .
eaglescout526
Oh and they were typically 4.0L's. Not sure which trans set ups they had.
89 MJ
I think most, if not all were 4.0, 5 speeds. You’d probably have a hard time finding one, so I’d bet that it would be easier to build one.

Does anyone make the SC grills? They look great and maybe not that hard to recreate.

I've had a street Comanche, definitely a unique rig, but nowadays you can build a better one with aftermarket available parts...so long as you can come to terms with not getting the grill or the plaque. Nearly everything else can be had second hand or aftermarket. Start off with an HO truck and you'll be leagues ahead of an actual street Comanche.
