XJ Manual Trans Question

Looking at possibly getting an a XJ for a daily soon. I found a 96 2wd 5 speed 4.0 xj. All I'm wanting to know is, could that have a ba/10 or would they all be ax-15s by then? Also out of curiosity, when did they start putting the nv3550 in?

AX-15. NV3550 was 2000, I believe. Sometime after 97 for sure. The BA went away mid 89.

XJ would’ve failed if it had the BA10/5 for that long. Haha.
