Phil86MJX
Hi all, I have recently replaced the head gasket and got the head planed at a machine shop but am still getting coolant in the oil after I took it around the block. The original engine has 200,000+ miles and looks like it was neglected all of its life by the original owners. I think the block might be cracked so I am looking for recommendations for reputable engine remanufacturing companies any of you might have experience doing business with. Here are some vehicle details: 1986 Jeep Comanche X 2.5L I4 AX4 Manual Transmission thanks in advance for the info -Phil

jpnjake
I honestly trust jy motors or marketplace used motors more, one of my buddies bought a “refurbished” 4.0 from some local company with a warranty, and he went through 4 new motors, all on their dime, everytime they had coolant intrusion, but he wasn’t allowed to disassemble and find the problem or his warranty was void, he ended up lending it out, and someone overheated it and voided his warranty. He rebuilt a motor himself and has had no problems since.
87MJTIM
I had my engine replaced with one from a company that starts with 'J' (rhymes with Casper). Before I could pick it up, it was leaking oil at the mechanic's shop. He insisted J replace the engine. J wanted to start the warranty time period from the delivery date of the first engine. The mechanic insisted the warranty start with the install of the second.
ghetdjc320
Only two reliable options as mentioned above is get a decent junkyard engine or rebuild one yourself. If I was buying a stroker engine though, I would take a closer look at newcomer racing engines
