Looking into upgrading stock carb

I was recommended to take a look at upgrading my factory carb on my ‘86 XLS. I know nothing on what to look for but they had said a 4 barrel but don’t know where to start. Can anyone link ones that would work for my 2.8L v6? I’m looking into engine swapping but don’t know if the carb is the weak link on drivability. What’s my price range on it?

good luck finding a 4 barrel intake for the 2.8.i got a weber kit and it works okay but i havent really had time to fine tune it.

Edelbrock is the only one that made an intake that would fit a 4bbl. 

They are very hard to find. Part number 3785 maybe you can get lucky on ebay.

I have one I have been trying to make work but it's been a pita.

We converted 2 V6s to four barrels. Not worth the $ for a minimal performance gain. I'd go Weber.
