Water in passenger side footwell

It's coming in when it rains around the fan blower. I found a write up several years ago from a member who took the blower out and cleaned and sanded the opening. I think he put a new gasket in or something. I don't remember. I've searched and searched for that write up and can't find it.

 

Anybody else know how to fix this?

there must be a dozen places over in that area for rain to get in.

Yes, but I've actually seen it running down the firewall from under the fan while it was raining.

I found all my biggest leaks when I had the carpet and backing out, I covered the floor pans with sprinkled talcum powder. After a big evening thunderstorm followed the next morning with a good soaking with the water hose, I had nice little trails back to my leaks. I think Pete told me about that. My leaks were door seals, blower and the antenna grommet.

I'll try this. The odd thing is it doesn't do it every time it rains. And there's no real pattern to when it does happen. I hadn't though about the antenna grommet.

Do you have opening vent windows?  That's where I get my leaks.

I don't. I have seen the water running down the front of the footwell appearing to be coming from the blower motor housing.

my final leak in Breanne's truck was coming from the cowl and only occurred with rain.  I couldn't replicate it with the hose.  after yanking out the hvac it was obvious where it was coming in.  top corner in the image where the rust is.

 

 

 

all of those arrows were leaks.

have you pulled the carpet?  with the carpet out it was very obviously running down the corner of the cab.

On your advice, I pulled that a long time ago. Sure heats that cab up though and makes it dodgy to put anything on the floor that might melt.
