NSWelding
In the process of working out the bugs with my new Comanche. My turn signals didn’t work and upon further inspection, found the fuse panel by the clutch pedal to have had water leaking on it for some time. Unlike newer fuse panels which have plugs to connect to the harness, ours are hard wired. Are there replacement terminals available so I can remove the crusty ones and repair? I was considering putting a little muriatic acid to clean them off, but that stuff is nasty to use. Really not looking to swap the harness, but I’ll take any suggestions. jdog
More then likely it's brake fluid from the clutch cylinder, the biggest issue is it ruins the plastic fuse box, they do sell new pins for it and there is a write up or two that explains how to do it. Minuit
You can see what looks like a drop of brake fluid forming on the master cylinder rod in this pic.
NSWelding
Thanks bud. Wouldn’t you know the row directly below the slave cylinder is the one that’s corroded.
boxyjeep
Yes, you can buy the new terminals from DelCity.
91Pioneer
If the terminals are simply corroded, you could try using a terminal cleaning tool, like a file. I got one recently and have used it a few times. It is way easier and may fix your problem without needing to replace anything - https://amzn.to/3VPxGSp
Salvagedcircuit
I have found that fiberglass pens work wonders at cleaning corrosion and oxidation off terminals. They are non conductive and not as abrasive as a file or sandpaper. You can literally shove the fiberglass bit into the terminal, wiggle it around a bit, then blow it out with compressed air and it will be a lot better. Things to note: a fiberglass pen will remove gold plating from a surface. It does not remove nickel plating that easily, which is why I tend to use it on automotive applications.
