CPS Plug inspection. Is this normal?

i second the suggestion of  bypassing the connector.i have personally done it several times on different renix 4.0s over the years.

The tape is ready for deployment. I don't see how you get a drill up in there, so probably not. I'm actually kinda backing off the whole mod thing. After reading about all the people breaking their new CPS! I can't afford to keep buying those things.

I know! I really thought I read on your site to drill out the bell housing with a pic if the bell housing. I'll have to check that again. I must be having a serious senior moment!

I did even notice the CPS, just the bell housing and the hole. 2+2=7 in my head. Ugh!

I thought I had a picture, but can't find it. We replaced the CPS in December. I had purchased a cheap one on Amazon, and it worked, but only after some modification. The holes on the CPS didn't line up with the holes in the bell. Fixed that with some cutting and grinding to make slots on each end. Then the pins of the plug on the new CPS were mangled so cut it off and spliced in the old plug. But after that it worked fine...

Whew! I thought this was going to be a horrible experience, but it worked out.

Hoping my NAPA part will work right off.

New cps installed. Still no start. Notched the cps I'm getting .08 volts. That's worse than the old one. It's a Napa part. I'm pulling my hair out!!!

Yes. Display reads 0.080 mv I think?

I notched out the holes for, supposedly, easier replacement. Would that have affected the function?

Only improved the output. Did you hold the sensor down against the bell housing while tightening?

i think you really need to take a step back.first where ive read youve never actually checked fuel pressure,just pushed the schraeder valve in and seen some fuel.harbor freight sells cheap enough fuel pressure gauge kits.then if you have proper fuel pressure and flow,check for spark.i persoally wouldnt have worried about modifing the cps sensor until i had it running again.i know you did put a new pump in it but i own a garage and you won't believe the amount of bad new parts i get a week(good american quality lol)you can also buy cheap spark testers from harbor freight.also you havent checked for injector pulse either with a noid light which also can be picked up at harbor frieght pretty cheap.most of these harbor freight tools are decent enough for the diy'er.
