NC Tom
I have uploaded an mp3 of a squeak/squeal I get when it's cold outside and louder when cold and damp. No noise when it's warm outside. I know it may just be a belt, but I figured I'd upload the sound in case it's a squeak that is specific to a part. MJ Squeek.mp3
AeroNautical
A squeaky bearing in an accessory pulley? Warm temps allow the grease to lubricate the ball bearings easier? Where was this recorded from, inside the cab? My brothers got a squeak coming from his water pump, but it never goes away, regardless of temp. It DOES go away briefly when you spray some aerokroil just behind the pulley. Where in NC are you?
87MJTIM
Harmonic balancer rubbing or scraping the timing chain cover? Look to see if the HB is starting to separate.

AZJeff
1 hour ago, NC Tom said: Okay, but that sounds expensive. As long as you catch the balancer before it rubs a hole through the timing chain cover, you will be OK. The actual Vibration Dampner (aka Harmonic Balancer) can be had for anywhere from $30 to $60, depending on brand and source. I bought a Dorman when I redid mine, and it was $60, but I see Rock Auto has an ATP brand for $40. Both are decent brands.
87MJTIM
As Jeff said, the part is ~$60. Remove the serp. belt. Remove the e-fan for access from above. If you have a skid plate, you may want to remove it to access from below. Get the HB puller loaner tool from the auto parts store. Pull the HB. Install the HB. Reverse your steps.
