Rusty’s 4.5” rear leafs part number ropcom35-0

Got a question for anyone who has the Rusty’s 4.5” leafs. Today I bought a set.  I’m trying to separate them so I can blast them down and repaint.  Just looked on Rusty’s site and it does mention their bushings are not OEM size. I can order those from them but I’ve heard they’re trash so I wanted to purchase them somewhere else. Anyone who has these have an opinion on sticking with Rusty’s bushings?

are they trash because they are considered too stiff?  too squeaky?  are they rubber or poly?

They’re rubber, but I seem to remember reading somewhere they didn’t last.

Honestly, most of Rusty's stuff is junk.  I'd say the time and money refinishing them/finding/buying new bushings and just get a new set elsewhere.

I have the same Rusty's 4.5" lift with those springs in the back.

 

When I have as little as 300-400 pounds in the bed, the rear end sags noticeably.

 

I read on this forum that the heaviest springs aren't in in use until the lighter springs let the body drop 2-3". This keeps the ride more comfortable while empty, but allows considerable sag before loading the heavier leaves on the stack.

 

Do you have the same issue?

Sorry, I haven’t loaded anything that heavy into the bed yet. It’s currently off the road since I pulled the carpet up and the floors were in really bad shape.
