vanquishings Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Hey dudes. Anyone got info on the Jeep hood emblems? I assume all Manches had them? My comanche got a fresh coat of paint at some point, and my emblem is long gone. I assume all MJs and XJs had these? Adhesive, as well? Or were any hard mounted? Is there a good source for a replacement/installation? Thanks!
fiatslug87 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Up to 90 they used pins with speed nuts, 91-92 were adhesive. The emblems are also different between those generations.

The emblems are also different between those generations. Interesting. Mine's an 88 and I can't see any pin marks. I'll have to pop the hood and see if I can see anything from underneath.
fiatslug87 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 The header panel could have been replaced with a later style or the holes were filled in during body work. I prefer the ones with pins, no guessing for placement.

I would assume they were covered up. I didn't know they had pin holes, so I hadn't looked that closely. I'll be able to find out for sure, tomorrow. They didn't paint the underside of the hood, so should be able to tell. Would anyone happen to know a decent source for a reproduction, or the correct spacing measurements on the OEM emblems?
