Sticky accelerator

Anyone ever had a problem with the pedal sticking during acceleration? I've lubed everything from the throttlebody to the pedal ansd it still sticks every now and then. All I have to do to un-stick it is to just pat the pedal with my foot and it releases. W T F ?

mine is the same way, I sprayed everything that moves related to it and replaced the throttle body. I may have to go the ghetto way of putting a helper spring to bring the throttle back to idol. hopefully someone can pipe in with a more perminant solution.

get a new throttle cable, they get rusty and can bind up, its a serious safety hazard...

Mine did that when the throttle cable wore out. The cable itself started wearing through the outer shroud and would stick. Very dangerous, fix it soon. It's a dealer item.

Yea, I was thinking that it could be the throttle cable digging into the outer shroud. Any idea what the dealer rapes, errr... charges someone for the new one? My inspection is up this month so I think I'll try the ghetto spring trick for now !

Sometimes it can be the throttle plate coming loose or crud buildup in the bore of the throttle body.

I gotta check that throttle plate and how do you clean the crud out, with some carb cleaner? :dunno:

not carb cleaner....use TB cleaner. Make sure it specifies that it won't harm O2 sensors.
