oldmanche
I am cleaning my C101 and noticed the male end has 13 connectors and the female only has 10 on the right "C" shaped side. Just wondering if anyone knows why?
eaglescout526
Only answer I can give is merely speculation. AMC made that connector(probably to make separation of the main harness from the ECU easier and easier to trace faults) to make the harness easier to work on and as far as why there’s X here and X there is unknown to us other than it’s just whatever the harness used. I’m sure the 2.5L might have less or more prongs on its harness than say the 4.0L does. They all do something, it’s just a matter if they are used or not which they probably all are. You could probably take one engine sensor and tone one wire out to one of those prongs.
Ωhm
Auto or manual trans? If manual, do you have the 3pin and 4pin connector for the TPS circuit?
oldmanche
It's manual. I used the Auto TPS when I replaced it about two years ago
Ωhm
Did you swap out the Engine Control Harness when you went with the manual trans?
oldmanche
It was manual when I bought it - I think it's factory
Ωhm
photo @cruiser54 Note TPS with ECU and TCM connectors. Is yours like this one? If so, then you got the manual Engine Control Harness which would be blank at C101_C1, C101_C2 and C101_C3.
