97+ nose conversion.

I've also done it but to an 88.

Like on mine since the engine bay was made for the 4.0 it was no problem as far as the hood latch and such goes. The 86 was only made for the shorter engines with a different hood though. You may have to swap the hood and radiator crossmember as well, I'm not sure.

thanks for the replies.

I'm gonna pull the parts from a junker, so all I should need is the grill, header panel, lights, and harness right?

And for the 86 specific concerns, I'm doin a 4.0 swap right now and swapping over the rad support so all should be well with that.

yea I have a 4.0 hood so I should be ok.

I see you guys buying new fenders.....is there a difference between old/new fenders? I remember reading something about not needing new style fenders with an non stock style bumper but I'm not sure.

Thanks,

Matt

i picked up everything that i got for about $150 including:

grill, header panel, headlight buckets, all the lenses (turn and parking), and fenders....everything but the fenders was Brand NEW

try certifit....I'm 50/50 on buying parts from them

What do you mean by 50/50?

I downloaded their parts book. Here seems to be the breakdown in parts (if you bought everything, and bought it new)

* Fender rh

JPCH01A1 $65.75

* Fender lh

JPCH01A2 $65.75

* Grille - black

JPCH10A0 $8.95

* Headlamp Door rh - black

JPCH15A1 $3.95

* Headlamp Door lh - black

JPCH15A2 $3.95

* Front Panel

JPCH49A0 $36.75

* Marker Lamp Assembly rh

JPCH80A1 $7.95

* Marker Lamp Assembly lh

JPCH80A2 $7.95

* Park/Signal Lamp Assembly rh

JPCH85A1 $9.95

* Park/Signal Lamp Assembly lh

JPCH85A2 $9.95

Total of $220.90

Not bad... since i've made a half dozen j/y trips and only ever found 2 97+ xj's, thought both were heavily damaged in the front end.
