Pete M
it was a struggle and a half, but the PT lives again and I head to Georgia in the morning. cost me a tow, a night in a hotel, gas for my buddy to come fetch me, trailer rental, and a timing belt kit, but it runs and drives and it's like the last week never happened. (except that my hands feel like I got into a fight with an oak tree. ) some tips for if you ever have to do this yourself: -a notepad clip works great at holding the belt on the cam gears -a 9mm socket works great at holding the belt on the crank -a zip tie does a great job of holding the motor mount in place while you're messing with the rest (it has to remain loose while installing that big metal mount bracket thingie so it can rotate)

scguy
Yep, binder clips are a life saver for belts. If there's more room around the crank, these work excellent.
mjeff87
I'll give you a second "atta boy" on the binder clips. That's a nifty little idea

I've only got 2 days to get the durango, trailer, and my folks packed and ready for their big camping trip to florida and then I get to drive 8 more hours to get to Lake Louisa state park. but next tuesday I might get to relax.
