I am in need for information of the correct ball joint removal kitt because the kits that you can rent from advance auto or O_Reileys do not fitt correctly  does anyone have this tool or correct part number for this tool  ?  Message me on Facebook or call me @ 813-364-9509 or leave text thanks

Did mine with the one from Autozone.  Worked well.

The ball joint removal/installation tool you can borrow at AutoZone and it's competitors usually does not have the proper adapters for the XJ/MJ yoke and knuckle.

HOWEVER...if you ask the store for what is loosely called the "4 wheel drive adapter kit", it will allow the "regular" ball joint tool to work on the XJ/MJ.   In essence, you need the basic tool, PLUS this adapter kit to do the job correctly.

I found this out when I borrowed the tool from my local O'reilly's.

This is the one I used:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FDBJRWH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I paired with this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7CO50E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As mentioned though, if you don't want to buy and would rather rent, do what AZJeff says about the 4-wheel drive adapter kit.

The one I got from autozone had the proper adapter in it.  It may be different for 4wd but the 2wd adapter was there and we are talking 2wd for OP as is mine.  It's worth checking out I think.

Thank you Azjeff- pocketemptied-& rokinn for your advice and great information I knew I wasn’t  alone in this from what I’ve already been through on  installing the ball joints the rental kits from   Advance auto parts do not fitt and O-Reileys  your links and suggestions I will now pursue and get this job finally done  I was barely able to install the left side with a kitt that did not fitt  at all  and nearly broke the parts within the kitt  so I’ve been hesitant to do the other side without the correct tool  and again. Comanche club and it’s many  members like you guys came through time and time again. Thank you guys ! I’m so greatfull !

Would you have the correct part number To buy or rent ? And which auto supply should I go to ?  Also I’ve tried using the kitt from o-Reilly’s but I nearly busted the puller I’m looking for a kitt with hardened steel if there is one ?

OTC is the best ball joints kit I’ve ever used. The kit was pricey but well worth it. The adapters are part number 7894
