rccubed Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 This one has me stumped! I am usually good at wiring probs And I've read most of all the stuff on here about this But..... 1987 MJ plain long bed 6cyl. The draw is 0.02 amp at the full volts of the battery. I unplugged the Alternator with no change. I unplugged the ECM and it dropped to 0.01 amp. That is the best I could find. I know its not much but it is draining my battery. Any ideas will be gratefully appreciated! Rccubed
gogmorgo Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 0.02A is not a lot. I don't know if there's a proper spec for an MJ, but as a general rule that's acceptable. A typical group 34 battery in good health should be able to put out that much current for well over a month before you have issues starting. Have you tested the battery?
89 MJ Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 Gosh, I left my truck sit all winter in less than 32 degree weather with the battery hooked up (December-Late March) and it didn’t kill it. Is your glovebox light turning off?
omega_rugal Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 50 mA - 80 mA is the acceptable draw mine draws like 10 mA or less, i have striped it of a lot of electric stuff

I haven't load tested it, but I plan on that today.

JMO413 Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 Welcome. I've referred to it plenty of times.
