Vacuum mess.

Recommended Posts

So here's a assortment of vaccum lines.  The ones circled in red are just not attached to anything and I'm not sure if they are supposed to be. The black circled one just lays over the valve cover and almost seems like it's not supposed to be there. And the one in green where the line is I belive is supposed to connect but in that case I'm not sure what's supposed to go in the green circled area. Any help on this would be great. Thank you

Here is the diagram from the 88 FSM:

My guess is they bypassed the Canister Purge line from going around and plugged it in across? That's my best guess for red & black. Not really sure.

The green may be the MAP Sensor

Yea I know now that the intake line is supposed to connect but when I take that line out of where it's plugged in the picture it gives me a vacvum. Leak. But I also don't even see something thats supposed to go into there on that diagram

First three pictures

The half moon one should go to where the line is going over the valve cover, other side should go to either the air box or to the egr solinoid

5th picture is of the ac cruise splitter

Last one the one going to the head should go the map and  the other should be plugged. If your not having any issues I'd just leave em

RENIX VACUUM HARNESSES

Vac harness 7151367

The vacuum harness that attaches to the front of the valve cover and includes the grommet/fitting, and is called the front harness, is Napa part number BK 715-1367 or is a Dorman 46003.

Vac harness 7151366

The vacuum harness that is closest to the air cleaner, EGR etc, and is called the rear harness, is Napa part number BK 715-1366 or is a Dorman 46004.

Vac harness 7151365

The tube from the rear of the valve cover to the intake manifold is part number BK 715-1365 or Dorman 46005 and comes with the valve cover grommet.

The Throttle Body to MAP hose is no longer available. Click HERE to access a fix for that.
