Pete M
maybe a year ago we finally ditched the inkjet for a laserjet. yay! no more fighting to refill the silly cartridges that refuse to work for no reason and the color cartridges won't dry up from lack of use! yeah well, different devil, same hell. turns out the Lexmark 3224 cartridges (which have a simple plastic plug on the bottom and are very easy to refill) have some sort of baloney computer chip in the side that counts down the pages and stops functioning once that limit is reached. no one yet makes a cheap replacement chip (this crap is not unique to our specific printer). I can't find instructions for a manual override for our particular printer. and I'm about ready to take it out into the street and light it on fire as a forth of july show. anyone has experience in this field of insanity?
