What's that noise?

So this noise started about 2 weeks ago. It has progressively got louder, buuuut it doesn't happen every time I drive. It sounds like a screeching metal on metal, or spinning metal. It appears to be coming from behind the dash area. My father thinks it may be a bearing going bad but we couldn't place it while looking the other day. Any thoughts?

Does it go away when you press the clutch in?

Does it only happen when the blower motor is on?  Because I had an issue that sounded exactly like this before, and it was a piece of plastic wrapper that got caught in the AC ducts and was whistling lol

It does not go away when the clutch is engaged and similarly the sound is there whether or not the blower is on. I'm going to stop by a friend's garage Monday to hopefully figure this out, but all the suggestions and input is greatly helpful. Thanks

Drum roll please....... and the source of the noise and aggravation waaaaaaas.....a broken cardan joint in the front drive shaft. The best part about that is it is only 330 days into the 1 year warranty through RockAuto and completely covered. It's going to cost me $14 to in shipping for a full replacement. Thank you everyone for your help.
