All around mj
I’ve been having an issue with heating. My gauge doesn’t go passed 160 on temp and my heater doesn’t blow hot. I’ve also noticed a hint of antifreeze smell but no coolant in the floor board. Any ideas?
89 MJ
Is your thermostat stuck open? That could cause the coolant to circulate too quickly and not allow it to heat up. Also, if you are smelling coolant, have your MJ running and check under the hood for leaks. I'd also recommend checking your oil. If it looks like chocolate milk, you have lost your headgasket and it is possible that oil is getting into your combustion chamber.
BeaterComanche86
or if you have a thermostat installed at all. If your gonna crack it open you might as well replace it as thermostats are cheap. I believe it’s a 195 degree and many would recommend using a Mopar not aftermarket.
All around mj
I’ll be taking a good hard look at it Thursday. I’m hoping it’s the thermostat. I just changed the gears in it last weekend, seals and wheel cylinders were going bad so I figured while it was apart. Thanks guys
All around mj
It was a faulty thermostat.
