weight before bending or weight before collapsing?  I've seen a lot of bent gates.  don't remember one that ever fell.

Assuming it's in good shape. Mine holds my 330lbs self as well as my Dad's 250ish.

Thanks, this answers my question exactly i just wanted to know if i could trust sitting on it and the latches or supports won't let go

the CC site has its own mobile version if you'd like to try it.   it's not an outright app though, so you'd just go to the address.
