Front Exhaust for an ‘86 2.5

I need to replace the front exhaust on my ‘86 2.5 and I looked at a couple options on Quadratec. They have one that they say is for a 4.0 for the years 86-90 (obviously they didn’t make a 4.0 in ‘86) and one for the 2.5 in the years 87-92. Upon asking them they told me they don’t have the part and that I’d have to modify one. Its my understanding that the ‘86s have a number of differences throughout the truck compared to later years. Have any of you guys found an actual replacement part or will I have to modify one? Thanks

You would probably have luck finding the front portion from a Blazer or equivalent truck with the same engine and then modifying.  Do you just need headers-->cat?

Sorry, thought you meant 2.8.  I would assume the 2.5 would be the same throughout the years.

What do you mean by front exhaust? Like the manifold? Or the front half before the manifold? Usually those pipes are the same.

@eaglescout526 I need the exhaust pipe from the manifold to the cat.

Walker 44914 is the number I come up with for the front pipe. I believe that's from the manifold to the converter.

Sadly it looks discontinued, but you might have some luck finding NOS somewhere.

 

That being said, it shouldn't be that bad of a part to have made by a good exhaust shop if you can give them a donor part.

I found one on a site called allworldautomotive.com. Says they have one but not sure how up to date the site is

Makes sense, I am very very close to having catalog access again, but like Jeremy said, someone could make anew. Also perhaps AMC salvage might have a few of those pipes laying around.
